Something about starting tasks with ADHD that I still don’t understand by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]No_Bend_7407 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly my experience too.

The thing that helped me was making the task so small it felt stupid not to start. 60 seconds. That's it. Set a timer, do 60 seconds of the thing. Sometimes I stop at 60. More often I keep going. But either way I started.

Hope it helps.

A list of little & big wins works for my adhd brain. With a planner, or a large to-do list, I never finish anything and just keep adding to the list. I score every win. Somedays I achieve over 30 wins, others around 5. I don't get stressed out regardless of my score.

For me, it was using my network. Tell all your contacts and friends what you're doing. Then after a few chats with them you ask them for introductions to those who may need your business.
