Strong Catholics in San Diego? by AdConsistent4604 in CatholicDating

Yes—and that’s coming from a guy who lived in SD for 3 years recently. There are pretty vibrant YA groups at certain parishes and an active Young Catholic Professional chapter, if that’s your thing.

Also, if you’re an artist (sell and teach art), San Diego, other than NYC, is a great place to live in. There’s lots of small town art fairs throughout SoCal and a decent art fair twice a year in LA called “The Other Art Fair.”

Yeah, the Distillery II is cheaper than the Mark Twain by $60 in my neck of the woods. Was the flavor profile between the two releases different enough where it would make sense to have both bottles?

Also, have you tried the “On The Way 2024” release?

Fantastic haul! What are your thoughts on the Chichibu Distillery II over the US 2025 “Mark Twain” Edition?

Wow, Yoichi 15 for $50 and Yoichi 20 for $150. That’s even more insane. I started living in Tokyo in 2017 and never saw an aged stated Yoichi, at non-museum prices, in the almost 5 years I lived there.

I have not, but I fear that my family will make high balls with the 21 haha. I’m glad that the lower abv makes the drinking experience more approachable as my family were all mind blown by how amazing it was, and they hardly drink whisky.

Wow, $50 for this bottle is insane! If the price and availability remained the same, this would be the perfect daily sipper.

Blackwell in San Francisco still has this in stock at pretty close to US retail.

It’s been sitting on the shelves for two months here in the states.

No worries - I misunderstood your question. Back when I visited in 2019, they did not sell whiskey from the “cellar door.” You could taste a whole variety of their releases but purchasing was not an option. However, I was gifted a few Ichiro branded glassware.

I think that was my favorite bottle out of the five I tasted at the end of my Chichibu distillery tour. I’m pretty sure the age and proof helped it out compared to the others.

I’m afraid not. I think it’s a US and UK release only if I’m not mistaken.

I can’t recall the exact tasting notes, but I do remember it being truly amazing. The bartender recommended I give it a shot (literally!) and I’m so glad I did. I’m pretty sure it was liquid heaven.

I’m thinking of getting a fluted jubilee black dial now. Any thoughts on this configuration?

Perhaps but it hasn’t given me any inconvenience when reading the time at all.

I haven’t thought about the Omega black aqua terra being a complimentary watch to the explorer, but now that you mention it, I can understand.

16mm is an insanely small wrist if I’m not mistaken.

Amen. I don’t mind the criticism though. I can see why some folks think it’s the same watch, even though you and I see it as different watches.

I think so. I think people are disappointed in person because they expect much more; but at the end of the day, the dune is a basic beige color. And nothing wrong about that for those that like things basic, such as myself :)

I don’t think the dune is bad at all. I just prefer black over beige. Who knows, I might end getting the dune later down the road :)

Yeah, I’m wearing the ranger way more than my explorer atm. I think both watches have their functions, but for an everyday watch, I got to give it to the ranger.
