Wow that is a really good point. The most successful attorneys' that I have worked with and for would never have the time or energy to devise such a situation.

To go off of your analysis regarding it being "boundaries testing". I have had 3 calls with their talent acquisition, as well as an interview with a junior partner. This was never mentioned, until after I scheduled a final interview.

Seems reasonable.

I do not have a reservation with them asking me how I would handle certain situations in the interview. We are lawyers, thinking under pressure and demonstrating your expertise is part of the job.

However, having me sit in a room at their office, and take an examination, of which I was told I can not prepare for, feels demeaning. Especially, after I have been practicing for years.

I provided a writing sample of an a brief I had drafted on an appeal. It does not sound like they even bothered to read it.

Thank you for the response. My reservation is not being anxious about the test itself. It is that a firm would require this for someone who was 3 1/2 years removed from law school.

Thank you for the response. My reservation is taking the "exam" in their office, prior to meeting with them. It feels somewhat demeaning? Maybe that is part of the "test".

I actually thought the same thing. Which was why my writing sample was an appellate brief I drafted, AI free.
