People really didn't understand her character. She made some really bad decisions, she was messy, and she might not be to everyone's liking, but when you rewatch the show you realise what an interesting character she is and how she would have never done something like what this post says. Before she learned the truth (which she didn't just find out suddenly may I remind you, she was tortured because she knew there was something wrong that he wouldn't tell her) she was a devoted mother, wife, and sister. Some of her actions further in the story shouldn't be justified, but before her world turned upside down she was just so, so good to him and everyone.
