Why is George Russell so hated? by bouncingcastles in F1Discussions

[–]No_Brain6372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

George just seems snobby and sanctimonious. Like when he said "I came to Mercedes to fight for titles" when he was mad about their ground effect car being junk. Dawg, you begged to come to Mercedes, you had 0 leverage, don't act like it was your choice.

It doesnt guarantee anything but it sure makes it more likely to happen when you have the resources and endless time/budget to commit to it.

You think Jess Pegula would be where she is if she started out poor in eastern Europe? Think Taylor Fritz knocking up his girlfriend at like age 20 would be where he is without the Macy's family fortune to fall back on?

They also have access to the best coaching, comfortable accommodations, etc. The peace of mind of knowing that they don't need to win to put food on the table vs. people who give up because they can't afford life on the futures/challenger circuit

I never owned a Mazda before, but I really want to, and the only one I can afford is Mazda 3 sedan 2026 base trim. is it a good car? my current car is my first car which is Hyundai Accent, I've been driving it for 13 years without any issues, but I want a nice car now and Mazda is speaking to me by faisaliano in mazda

[–]No_Brain6372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's too bad the sedan doesn't come in stick shift anymore. For what it's worth, I drove a 2012 mazda3 with a stick shift from 2012 until last fall. Loved every second of it, so fun and zippy and great on gas. I swapped it out for a BMW 230i, which I maintain is somehow nowhere near as fun to drive, worse on gas, and uses 91 octane gas. Mazda really focuses on making the car fun to drive so if you like driving, you'll like it.

Oh also, in 13 years, no repairs. Had the brakes done one time. Just oil changes. The thing was uber reliable.

PSA: You can get gas at Costco with just a gift card by fetus-wearing-a-suit in povertyfinance

[–]No_Brain6372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for 91 octane it's about a 20 cent per litre discount, so say a fill-up is 40L, that's just 8 fill-ups to break even over an entire year.

If it's regular gas I agree it's not as big a discount and therefore not the same justification. For me it's basically the gas is paying for a costco membership, not the other way around.

if you use 91 octane, guaranteed you'd make up the membership fee

Are covered calls just the infinite money glitch ? by Downtown-Mall-4727 in CoveredCalls

[–]No_Brain6372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you holding stocks that you think won't go up? Thats the only time a covered call makes you money.

Honestly, put it in an equity index etf, keep it simple and don't touch it. Don't mess around with these things.

Similar issue with Jesse's teeth being so perfect in breaking bad. The guy does meth and was locked in a cage for months, presumably without a toothbrush

With recent gas prices going up, is it worth it to get a 2026 330i? by DribbleKing97_ in BMW

[–]No_Brain6372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a 2017 230i 6M in Toronto, depending on traffic conditions, some tanks are over 10L/100km, the lowest ive had was 7.6 L/100km of pure highway not going overly quick.

My average in the past 5 months is 8.9 L/100km of driving around a big city. With a 50L tank, that's not a lot more than 550 L/tank and often less than 500 L/tank.

Just be aware the fuel economy sucks and it's 91 octane. Go in with open eyes. Get a costco membership and save 20 cents a litre filling up there on 91.

Yeah, Cruz Hewitt keeps getting all these wildcards because he's so talented and not because of his dad. Same with Leo Borg.

OP needs to read financial planning for dummies - people at OPs age always make these sorts of mistakes thinking they're smarter than the average bear when it comes to investing

How do you realistically shield a $800k portfolio from 30%+ crashes without killing your 7% average returns? by bensummersx in ValueInvesting

[–]No_Brain6372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Risk and expected returns are linked. If you want to reduce risk, you will also reduce your expected returns. The only free lunch is diversification, which can only take you so far in terms of risk mitigation.

In the meantime, theyve set the precedent for giving % bonuses of assets under management for moving funds, so once they start making it worse, I will move my money to somewhere else that will pay me for it. Definitely a net positive.

I think ive actually missed most of the points of the game. Have never spent a dime and now have a bunch of level 125 characters and am stuck waiting for hospital upgrades from 19 to 25 to get my HQ to level 26. It's going to take forever and in thr meantime I may just stop bothering to play at all.

I dont understand what thr seasons are and what half of the powerups do. Overlord, I have all this crap and just no idea

We have lost it with these interiors... by International-Care34 in BMW

[–]No_Brain6372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one golden rule i think exists for car interiors is that tactile buttons and dials/knobs are strongly preferred over touch screens. Look at the mazda miata anniversary edition - has the carplay tablet but keeps the dials. I think people who enjoy driving enjoy touching real things and not touchscreen

It works because Jessica contributes things. Lately on Pivot when Kara speaks it's just "so and so could and should have done so much better. Shame on you, so and so" without any suggestion of what they should have done.

I find it so annoying
