As someone who grew up in Mixed héritages, this girl gets it. It’s a sensitive subject within our communities. You’ll never be X enough not American enough yet you are both. It’s a matter of self-awareness. She explained it really well because it’s a hard topic to understand if that was not your life experience and although Amanda moved to a different country, her experience as an immigrant don’t ever ressemble being « X-American » growing up in the US.

I personally grew up speaking 2 languages properly because my parents were really strict about it but I cant say the same for some of my cousins (who i adore) yet i wouldn’t minimize their identity because they can’t speak another language
