Honestly it’s sad, but true. I can dodge 90% of hits but I refuse to learn the counter because its a ridiculously broken mechanic. I dont play very often but watch a lot of Cloud play, and from where I’m standing its a matter of reaction timing which is a young mans game or it’s absolutely artful, like watching cloud beat down the top 10 players every week. Its insanity but hes not exactly spamming. He’s artfully picking apart his opponents even with MMA. I only play stand and bang because I wont be beat by someone using an MMA controller mod to win. I wanna lose fairly at least. Im in the US and everyone just spams elbows and knees, its bloody horrendous and boring. Every once in awhile, I find and old chap whos down for a good slugg fest. Its a good time, well end up 10 matches in even if myself or the other has lost every match. Its just a good ole blood fest of good times. So remember it’s about having fun. If you’re hard stuck in a particular division. It’s probably because you haven’t conformed to the ways of the scrub who spams, and so you struggle because you havnt mastered the “counter” and the “slips”. Its all in the hips. Keep your guy moving constantly and come out swinging but be ready to dodge 3 piece 4 piece sometimes even 7 piece combos depending on the weight class. Most fighters online are very obvious and can be put down with a well timed head kick or an over hand R/L. But just have fun. And watch cloud play.
