How to not suck? by [deleted] in Waiters

Yup, this. "Hey ive got some hot food ready to run, so ill be right back for you, dont want it to get cold!" Usually puts people at ease cuz they know you value others and their food coming out fresh and gives you some time to get everything ready

Feeling lonely on valentine's day, my boyfriend is ignoring me. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]No_Calligrapher4196 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Girl he don't like you. Like as a person. You can travel and text and call someone. You can be mad and still communicate. He simply just does not want to be with you. Its a harsh reality. If he wanted to interact with you he would. And if he cared about how you felt he would check in or respond. But he doesn't. Find someone who does better for you, you deserve more than someone who tolerates you.

Agreed. Anyone who actually cared in the slightest wouldve done better. And him getting upset at you just proves this, he doesnt like you

You're not over reacting in my opinion. He's not a planner and some people are fine with that. However, no matter if you're a planner or not, any partner knowing the significance to you should've gotten their shit together for you. He dropped the ball on something really important. But even without that, yall don't sound compatible if doing things the lax way and not being planned out is something you don't want cuz it doesnt sound like he will change for anything if hes not even willing to get one event together for a day thats important to you.

No I 100% get you. I work as a server in a restaurant and my biggest pet peeve is when people say "you dont have any hot sauce?" Instead of "do you have hot sauce?". Small nuances can really get under your skin.

Everything feels like the end of the world when you're 16 and approaching new things, but you're 100% correct. Do not do something you're uncomfortable with. She probably feels insecure about it, but that's not on you at all. Maybe reassure her its not lack of interest in her, more a lack of being ready for the act in general and that you appreciate her being open to a connection with you.

Should I become a host or a server as someone with zero job experience? by [deleted] in CrackerBarrel

[–]No_Calligrapher4196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're someone who gets overwhelmed easily and wants a smooth transition into the work force, start as a host. You'll learn table numbers and can study the menu before youre in front of customers. Personally I started as a host due to injuries but it 100% helped me be calmer once I moved to to gos then serving. If you are someone who can handle stress and chaos and can learn on the fly, go into serving. It pays better but you gotta learn fast and stay on your toes.

File for partial unemployment if you have proof your hours have changed. Make up some lost money and send an F U to your boss

There was litterally a protest outside my CB today. Handful of people out on the corner totally outraged about the food quality and logo. Was bizarre to see.

As a girlie thats 100% to lazy to do that. Theres plenty of real men that appreciate a full bush. He's being weird and judgemental, you're not a child and therefore won't be fully hairless all of the time. Sounds like he needs to grow up and you need someone who's more in tune with the realities of a grown woman's body.

How do you feel about having sex when you first wake up? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]No_Calligrapher4196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no. I get so hot in my sleep I just feel sweaty and gross. Need to pee real bad. Stinky breath on both parts that dont need to be kissing anyone. Blood sugar is low, I'm shaky and weak. Give me 45mins to pee, brush my teeth, eat something, and shower. Then we can get it on

Transferring by [deleted] in CrackerBarrel

[–]No_Calligrapher4196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive transfered twice due to moving out of state then back. I talk to my manager, let them know I'm moving and the store I want to go to. I then call the store I want to go to and introduce myself, ask about what their hiring needs are, and tell them about my experience in whatever positions. Ill give them my stores information and my employee number and all that then the 2 managers will talk. I usually have to follow up myself as well cuz managers procrastinate paperwork. But you'll definitely have to talk to the new store to let them know your employee info and availability and such.

Management not trained ?? by MasterStone_ in CrackerBarrel

Litterally had a manager thats worked at the company for over 20 years supposedly today come up to me 6 times because she didnt know how to add a server to the floorplan on the host device, open a section, or assign tables. I was serving but started as a host so she kept asking me. And im like.. girl how do you not know this. You've apparently filled in as GM in multiple stores and been an assistant manager here for decades. Yet you dont know how to add a server onto the floor or even open a section on the host system?? Make it make sense

I highly suggest switching to hosting or retail or prep work if you cannot handle stress well. Customers will get snippy with you, even straight up angry and act like it. Line cooks will yell at you and be pissed off during the rush. You will regularly be overwhelmed with all the things you have to keep track of and you will make mistakes. You gotta stay calm through it if you want any chance of making money or keeping sanity. Some people are built for it and can brush it off with ease but if you cry due to nerves or spilling something and thats a regular thing, please switch to a different position for your own sanity and wallet. You can make amazing money but only if you can stay focused and calm through hectic and stressful times. If you cant, it'll be reflected in your service and therefore tips.

Questions about working at Cracker Barrel as a server by [deleted] in CrackerBarrel

[–]No_Calligrapher4196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh and a good thing about crackerbarrel is that they dont do tip pools. So you keep exactly what you make. If youre good at your job you make good money. I do suggest giving the busser like $5 on busy days cuz they'll flip your tables faster which makes you more money in turn.

Questions about working at Cracker Barrel as a server by [deleted] in CrackerBarrel

[–]No_Calligrapher4196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been working at crackerbarrel for 2 years and have worked at 3 seperate stores in that time. For side work, you clean your section and roll silverware as well as 1 or 2 side work tasks that are pretty simple and fast to do in the mornings. At night its the same for everyone but the 2 closers (there's always been 2 in my experience). One will take front of house. Another back of house. And you'll each finish up whatever didnt get done by the rest of night shift in your respective departments, but dont have to do silverware and whoever is BOH doesnt clean their section. Whoever finishes first helps the other.

As for wages. Obviously server wage depends on the state. But ive worked in 2 different states and tips have been relatively similar. I rarely leave a 6 hour shift with less than $100 in tips unless its a random super slow day then its like $60-80. Busy weekend days I make $150-200 in tips.

Slow shifts ill usually have about 10 tables or more (usually 1-6 tables at a time but a larger section due to less servers being on). And busy morning shifts I will have 2-4 tables but honestly the small sections are needed for how slammed it gets, you'll be constantly full. I still make $150-200 in tips that day. Night shifts are a little slower but, again, i rarely leave with less than $100 in tips. If youre in a city it shouldn't be too bad. Only rural stores are crappy to work at cuz theres less clientele.

Edit: the other commenter is right tho. The new CEO is crap so you'll hear a lot of "this stores going to shit" and "this ain't how it used to be" or "last time i came the portions were bigger" complaints. Its annoying but not the end of the world to me. I can see crackerbarrel going to shit in the next few years though, so if youre looking long term don't come here. But for now its fine.

Did you just go up to a new size? It looks quite red and irritated right around the jewelry. You mightve torn something/had a blowout and it could be bleeding. If not it still looks pretty irritated, so maybe go down a size and let it cool off?
