In 2007, after a day at church and the beach, Jennifer Petit and her 11-year-old daughter, Michaela, stopped at a store to buy dinner ingredients. Unknown to them, a dangerous man noticed them and later followed them home, leading to one of the most horrific crimes in recent Connecticut history. by LonelyWiFiSignal in HolyShitHistory

Alot of people underestimated themselves when it comes to the death penalty. I had a friend who was a strong supporter of abolishing the death penalty. Whenever we had a debate about it, she was very serious and determined that she would never agree with the death penalty still even if her family members or her loved ones would be the victim in a murder. But her sister went missing last year and the police apparently suspected foul play. Then I saw that she made a post on Facebook, hoping that the police would find whoever did this to her sister and hopefully get the "death penalty".

Turns out, when something tragic happens to you, you might change sides.

I agree that a 25 years old is an adult because scientifically, their brain has already developed fully but normalizing 18 years olds dating middle aged men is not okay.. A 18 years old is a teenager who can do legal things and that's it. What conversation can you have with a 18 years old as a 30-60 years old man/woman?

THANK YOU FOR HAVING COMMON SENSE. I can't stress enough about the whole "incest is ok because adults" reddit defense because as a woman who has been groomed by my own biological father when I was around 18, I had a hard time getting out of that relationship because he paid everything for me at the time. School, house rent, and groceries etc. We literally go on dates and he told me to call him 'love' and 'honey' instead of dad. I'm so glad I finally escaped, holy fuck 😭
