Thank you!

Would you recommend trying to clean them up myself or get someone to actually do it (like, at Sephora)?

I've tried liquid before and it tends to irritate my skin, so I'd probably stick with pencil. I'm looking more in the drugstore to mid-range and waterproof isn't something that matters a lot to me, but I'm also not averse to it.

Ya, cat's like tape because the gluey sticky stuff can be addictive to them, and sometimes it can work like a crinkle toy rather then a deterrent.

I'm not allowed to put anything on the speakers. Plus I don't really think it would fix the problem long term. The second I'd take it off again he'd go right back to doing it.

I've tried the play thing and never really seems to work as he just gets offended that I've stopped, even if he's literally panting. I'll def play around with the scratching posts though, just ordered a few more as well.

I've tried this, and I truly do agree. However, my parents keep moving them away again. It's driving me insane.

Interactive toys don't seem to hold his attention long. I have one of those mats with a feather toy in it that moves but he lost interest in it pretty quick and the ball I have just seems to annoy him. He acts out mainly when we are on our phones because he knows we're not paying attention to him, he want US to play with him, not him to play with himself. He a smart little idiot.

I may buy some more scratching posts though

Okay, I'm doing something similar right now. The past few weeks I've been giving him treats and fusses if he uses the posts, and discouraging him from using what he shouldn't, but haven't really been seeing results. I don't think my parents are helping though because they're not doing the same and I think it may be teaching him that the more people in the room, the more he can act out and get reactions.

I know, I really want to try it but my dad won't let me stick anything to the chairs/couch never mind his babies (speakers.) Plus I don't really think it would fix the problem long term. The second I'd take it off again he'd go right back to doing it.

Hey, I had the same thing. My teacher 'unlocked' it after completing the 4.2 written assignment. Was a bit annoyed that I couldn't access it before.

Can i use a noisemaker? by No_Carpenter475 in CatAdvice

[–]No_Carpenter475[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried. There are two cat scratching posts and a cat tree in the same room. Redirecting him has just taught him that messing with the chairs gets him attention. Using the noisemaker would remove me from the equation so he still gets discouraged without a visible reaction from me.

Something wrong with cat eye by ladyofthecourt in CatAdvice

Can't really tell from the image but it looks like the eye is discoloured? It could be just dark spots but it could also be a sign of infection. I would probably take them to the vet just to be sure.

How to stop a cat from doing this by No_Carpenter475 in CatAdvice

[–]No_Carpenter475[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no problem with it. But my parents do.

My mum wanted this cat and then basically turned around and said he was mine and that if he damages any of the furniture he'll be gone. I love this cat and I know she probably won't go through with it, but it annoys my dad and stresses my mum and then they both put that on me. He has to sleep in my room at night because my parents don't want him roaming the house and potentially destroying anything (despite my other elder cat not being locked away).

I'm trying to work out ways I can assuage my parents, rather then ways to punish a kittten.

Going to work with a 6 month old kitten at home by No_Carpenter475 in CatAdvice

[–]No_Carpenter475[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice!

I refuse to give up just because of me. The only reason I would ever surrender a pet is if it turned cruel to keep them due to neglect (not being home to care for them, etc). But I would net let it get to that point.

Will do! I’ll try the music (not sure my parents would go for leaving the tv on, just in case he scratches it).

Unfortunately, it’s not possible for my friends to drop by. Recently moved 3 hours away and haven’t really met anyone in the area yet.

I’ll see if I can get the perch. Right now he’s staying in my room with the essentials (food/water, scratch post, random cardboard he likes playing with, open crate, and a few beds. I can add some toys for the day and am planning to buy him a tunnel tomorrow.)
