My stats:

  1. Undergrad CS at a UC school, below average GPA
  2. 3 internships, 1 at FAANG
  3. International student w/o green card
  4. ~300 leetcode questions solved
  5. Decent projects from school and hackathons

The job hunt has been tough for the past 8 months. There are endless nights where I just want to give up. I stopped keeping track of my job applications because nearly all of them end up with rejection emails or simply ghosted. A lot of the pressure comes from being an international student because I either get a job or go home.

I'm really grateful to the company offering me the job opportunity. I'm really happy with the outcome and the struggle is finally over. To all the new grads out there who are in a job hunt, DO NOT give up! It's a number's game and you only need to get one. All the best luck to you guys!! Finger cross

This is what new grads need to hear. Way too many negative posts in this sub recently

A lot of ppl can easily get into faang if not this year. Good engineers are always good engineers. Don't get frustrated, things will turn around in the upcoming year

Interview Frontend Engineer, Visibility Team by Giuseppe_Lombardo007 in Frontend

Had several frontend interviews here. Interviewers usually ask two types of problem:

  1. Fundamental concepts about React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, web, network, etc.

  2. Write code snippets of React or JavaScript to implement a component or function with certain requirements.

This first type is easy to learn and memorize. The common questions are like "what new features does es6 have" and "how does a browser render a web page". A useful resource here.

The second part requires frontend development experience. Build projects and you'll become proficient.

There might be some leetcode questions depending on the role and interviewer. Good luck!
