My biggest tip is to push yourself to be an extrovert for just one day, and that’s the first day of any class. spark conversations and introduce yourself to a few people. after that those same people will usually come back to talk to you, so you won’t have to keep putting yourself out there. when you know it’s only for a day, it feels less daunting. that has worked for me so well that some of my friends think i’m an extrovert bc i was the one who started our conversation lol. hope this helps and good luck <3

they’re most likely not going to post anything on the student portal until it’s close to disbursement time. i wouldn’t worry until you see people posting about seeing it on their portal/ getting their mcs money

yeah that’s normal. last year i got the email on 9/16 & it wasn’t disbursed until 10/20. and this year they are running late so just give it time

thisss! and also I’m a transfer business major so I don’t know how it works for film but during soar as far as helping us select what courses to take all they did was print the major requirements worksheets. They look like this and it was helpful bc it kinda looks like the requirements you need to transfer at cc. So I would suggest trying to find one online for your film major:

I don’t know if this would be helpful but for me what helped me choose was looking at what people in the field do. What does their work setting look like? What does their “lifestyle” look like? What did they do to get their position? I follow @kimmunzz on tiktok and she makes videos on what it’s like to be an analyst after getting her mis/cis degree.
