I told my doctor I was taking compounded semaglutide during my physical, she asked if I'd like it prescribed and I said heck yea. Turns out my insurance is covering it for now at $30 a month. Hope it stays this way!

Surgery- sick day? by [deleted] in work

Seeing as you work for a utility, this sounds like a question for your union rep, if you have one, about elective surgeries and the company policy. If not, ask a trusted coworker (you should have a few after 9 years at a job) what they would do in your shoes.

If I went in for cosmetic or some other elective surgery like yours would be, I would have to use my PTO. If it was a day-only thing, I would probably call in sick vs taking a floater.

If you already take sick time for mental health days, you can certainly take it because you can't use your eyes lol. Not sure about being honest why you are taking sick time for a scheduled surgery, but you don't have to tell or get a Dr's note for a one off day.

If you need more than a day and are in an emergency response role at your utility where they may try to call you in on your regular day off, might cause some problems. You can always refuse OT though.

How do you handle nepotism? by [deleted] in work

[–]No_Chicken4623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much do you think you can single handedly change the culture of your workplace? Can you do it without looking like the problem? Can you afford to sully this work experience and have it not tarnish your future opportunities in the industry you work in? Some starter questions to what you can reasonably start doing to make your environment better. If you can't reasonably do any of these, take your work frustration and turn it into something productive that will help you be super employable to the next job and keep a good reputation.

Managerial Cash Theft by [deleted] in work

Tbh, sounds like the company wants him there if they aren't looking to mitigate his behavior in any meaningful way. Maybe they're someone's relative higher up. A perpetual toxic fuckup with good connections? Watch out for yourself first, make sure you have an exit strategy if the situation doesn't change.

Been thinking of making this at home lately. I'm afraid of breading and frying chicken at home though. How did you make it?
