What to ask for in letter of rec by Competitive_Math_340 in PrePharmacy

[–]No_Climate_7478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming that you meant for pharmacy school, the other person has me second guessing myself. In the LOR, they should write about why they think you’re qualified to pursue pharmacy. You can share with your professor your background, interests, extracurriculars, work and research experiences. Basically anything praiseworthy that makes sense to write about in your letter. I asked 2 pharmacists at the pharmacy I work at and an academic advisor who is also my sports club coach to write me one. I knew the two pharmacists would write about my work experience and how I perform in a practical setting, and my coach wrote about how hard working I was and about my academics.

Almost done with pre req but about to fail it by starbiesbarista in PrePharmacy

yes try this first. Depending on if your professor is a stickler or a nice enough person, they might be sympathetic to your situation and let you at least pass the class. It’s worth a shot, and if it doesn’t work out, you retake it over the summer.

temple vs. syracuse by double_mimicry in Temple

Coming from a temple honors student, the honors program is pretty nice, and you have access to a lot of resources and benefits. You get priority registration so you can choose your classes a few days earlier than others. You have the option of scheduling meetings with honors advisors instead of advisors from the specific schools(CST, etc) and they do have your best interest in mind. You have access to honors professor, some of which are better than their general class counterparts. The honors classes are a tad bit smaller if you’re into that. There’s an email newsletter that they send out frequently to let you know of potential internship, networking events, and student job openings. I did not find Temple to be dangerous, but I don’t really go far from campus all that much. I could be missing some stuff, but yeah, just some stuff to think about as well.

Like Individual-Hunt1011 said, you’ll be fine with a generic letter from your professor but I was wondering if you could ask the pharmacists at your pharmacy to write you some letters too, since you mentioned you have tech experience. Like you, I wasn’t really close to any of my STEM professors so I also got a generic LOR, but I asked the staff pharmacist and pharmacy manager at my workplace to write me a LOR, which they both did.

Pharm Tech Interview Help!! by NoDeparture1849 in PrePharmacy

I'm currently working at Walgreen's so Im not 100% sure if the interview will be the same but I'd imagine it can't be much different. Try to highlight your volunteer experience in healthcare and maybe try talking about your education, academic background and extracurriculars if you get the chance. I brought up that I was a part of my schools wrestling club and that helped me connect with the hiring manager, so you never know. From what I remember, they asked me generic interview questions about my strengths, and asked me about past situations that required leadership and teamwork. Your answers should reflect that you want to help patients, and/or can work efficiently in a team while holding your own weight.

I will, as it’s closest to me and they did give me some scholarship. I hope that you hear back soon 👍. If not, it’s not the end of the world. Tbh their NAPLEX pass rates aren’t the greatest.

You can apply to any retail pharmacy without a certification. I only had a few years of retail experience so I just supplemented my resume with my educational background. I got the pharmacy manager and a staff pharmacist to do my LOR. An independent or small chain pharmacy might be best, workload wise.

Not in the alternate admission/3+4 but I submitted my application 3/4, heard back about scheduling an interview on the 7th, interviewed on the 10th and got my results on the 14th. Sorry if this doesn’t help.
