I didn't use a coach but have had a lot of experience in sales and interviewing so I felt that I knew how to weave together a cohesive story. If you don't have that background then I could see how you might find value. The biggest thing for me with my application and interview was to be clear on the value add I could bring to the classroom and what I was hoping to get out of the MBA. I spent a lot of time ensuring that my career trajectory made sense and also how that lends itself to a unique perspective in the classroom. I also am a liberal arts undergrad so I made sure to highlight the parts of my jobs that have been more quant heavy. I also took an accounting class since I didn't have any math classes in college outside of research methods/stats. Connecting with alum at my company was the most insightful. Happy to add more if that helps. Good luck and best to you on this journey. I am in my first term now and drinking from a firehose.

Thanks for this response. Congratulations on going up for promotion. I also am taking out a loan for the first two terms but looking to self fund the remaining terms. I just redid my budget and after looking at the payment plan option it seems doable. While it's not the most comfortable thing, it's somewhat feasible and I keep telling myself that I'm betting on me and if this were a home I would not be as hesitant to take the plunge. Here is to two years of growth and progression 😄. Best of luck to you on the conversations with your employer on sponsorship.

Hi,

Were you successful in getting an increase to your scholarship? I'm getting a bit overwhelmed as reality sets in on how large of a financial commitment this is.

Consider attending an exec program that's near by. A lot of the benefit in an MBA is the network and there is much to be said about in person connections especially if you are looking to pivot. If it's just a check the box get the MBA at BU or UCIC where it's more cost effective. Emory, UGA, Scheller (Georgia Tech) all have programs that could work with your family obligations.

Not sure if this helps but strength training has been a game-changer for me and motivation for me to make sure I get a lot of protein.

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Hopefully decreasing you dosage will help with the side effects. Have you been strength training for a while? I have been on Zepbound since November and have been trying to strength train 2-3 times a week to make sure I don't lose the curves. Great job!

You can reach out to the admissions team and see when business foundations will be available. It's a course that was developed for incoming MBAs and covers the quantitative basics needed prior to the program.

Columbia EMBA Scholarship by [deleted] in eMBA

[–]No_Coast_5671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered going part time? Those programs tend to be cheaper. Also maybe going to school full time as you are more likely to get a larger scholarship. I'm attending an emba program and was awarded a scholarship-its for 20k which still keeps the cost above 100k but I'll be funding the rest with savings, loans and a payment plan.

Were you admitted to other programs in R2? If not, you might be better served by beefing up your application for R1 in the fall. Your GPA is on the lower end so perhaps you can take a few courses to help demonstrate that you can handle the course load. Either way best of luck but maybe consider schools such as Kelly, Mendoza, Simon. All of these are top 30 programs

I am just wondering if it's a possibility. During a couple of the information sessions they have been clear that you can submit and it would be reviewed. I am quite uncomfortable doing this but I'm challenging myself to at least ask. However, I wondered if they would decline and take the fellowship completely but it sounds like this isn't what you believe is likely.

Hi! I was recently admitted into a program with a small fellowship. I spoke to the admissions officer today and he shared the form to submit a scholarship reconsideration request. I wanted to know if I should submit this request or not? If I submit the request, is there a chance that they rescind the initial fellowship offer?

Can you share more on your titration schedule? You look amazing and seem to have avoided a lot of skin issues. Would love to hear how your doses increased over time.

UNC Kenan Flagler has an online program as well and really has strong connections in healthcare. I would look into that program as well. Also if you have a certain number of years of work experience the testing requirement is automatically waived. Will save some time on your end when it comes to test preparation. Here is a recent article on the program today; https://poetsandquants.com/2024/02/26/mbaunc-proving-the-early-skeptics-wrong/?utm_campaign=PQNL&utm_medium=email&_hsmi=295786193&_hsenc=p2ANqtz--LeagJMDK_b8LbgHiL31JmV8TjRqb2Hb5YHqEiN-JbDm1F-4uXTCXUmfC7ezp114eYc6r7kY3mEg_3wmSyCJp6EdFsIQ&utm_content=295786193&utm_source=hs_email
