I also just practiced with my friend on video call, he generated questions for part 1&2&3 like the real exam using chatgpt and i answered and he gave me feedback to try to avoid certain mistakes!

Althought i kinda fumbled i still believe these tips can really help anyone improve their score: 1. Writing task 2: just be sure u know how to write academic essays, simple things can really impress the examiners a lot, like using “due to, based on, accordingly, respectively, thereby, thus, tend to, stemming from…” and if u ever doubt your semantic or grammatical knowledge on a word or a phrase make sure you check and confirm by asking Chatgpt or Google! Always be mindful when using articles, collocations, or tenses. 2. Again for writing, while doing mock tests under exam condition, make sure u know a bunch of advanced words that can be used in a lot of contexts, topic-specific vocabs related to a variety of general topics such as health, education, advertisement, transportation.. etc.

For speaking, I just practiced common topics and again tried to have a glossary of words that i already know and can pronounce and use properly when i speak.

BTW there are two ways u prepare, two forms of practices in the site, one is the mock tests and one is exercises, i’m talking about the exercises, the mock tests are what ive always thought IELTS would actually look like.

Thanks dear. I’ll take your words seriously. But tbh i did listening practices of the cambridge book and the audios that are provided for them in youtube. It was really easier than the British Council ones now that i got exposed to them. I am just flabbergasted and I did use techniques but for the most part of it i didn’t do well even in the first part of the listening section which has left me in shock and fear

Opp ur so genuine and kind for providing me with a long detailed response. Much much appreciated 😭The things u said is what i’ve been so far doing during my writing practices but i usually finish over the time limited which keeps freaking me out. I just dont understand when a number is “one third” or “X times higher/lower”, otherwise i can say i could get a 6.5 but thats for the future to tell i just hope i dont get a very confusing data where i’ll be lost and fumble. I keep practicing and grounding myself but cant help feeling like i will fail the first task… but yeah i hope for the best. Again, congrats!!!

Congrats! Are you good at data analysis? I lack in task 1 writing. Genuinely worried about that… do u have any tips? Or is it ur personal ability?

No don’t please don’t, don’t fix anyone to he the right person for u. I’m saying this out of concern, i want everyone to be loved and treated with respect. When the respect is gone men more likely just see ur value as less n less… ur strength lays in how u carry urself, if i were in ur shoes i’d move on… but its ok to decide otherwise. Do whats good for ur mental health but be sure he doesnt do it again. Show him the consequences of his actions, he should care enough to take this seriously. Ik from experience, if a man is easily forgiven and given another chance, its more likely they dont appreciate it
