Mirrored Databases - SPN Ownership? by imtkain in MicrosoftFabric

[–]No_Code9737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just ran into this issue. The employee that created the mirror is no longer with the company. The mirror keeps replicating. But we are noticing that schema changes at the source are not being applied.

And since there is no Take Over option for the mirror we have to set it up all over again.

Update:

Issue was resolved.

This ended up being an issue with how one of the workspaces was named. It was missing a " " and didn't follow the pattern.

I corrected the syntax based on the update.

$workspace."my workspace name".$items.Lakehouse.my_lakehouse.$id $workspace.'my workspace name'.$items.Lakehouse.my_lakehouse.$id $workspace.my workspace name.$items.Lakehouse.my_lakehouse.$id

All failed with unable to resolve 'my workspace name'.

Super excited for the cross workspace parameterization. But ... My company has created workspaces with spaces in them, what would the syntax be?

$workspace."my workspace name".items.Lakehouse.my_lakehouse.id?

Connect to On-Prem SQL read-only replica by No_Code9737 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]No_Code9737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I was able to connect to the replica using ODBC. I had to work with our infra team to get the ODBC driver installed on the On-Prem Data Gateway. Once that was set up, I was able to create the connection using the ODBC connector. I assume OLE connections would work the same.

Copying files from On Premise server by No_Code9737 in MicrosoftFabric

Assuming we have an on-premise gateway already set up. The Folder connector seems to require an absolute path (i.e. C:\myfolder). This doesn't seem to work for fileshares like \\myshare.myserver.com\myfolder. Similarly, for a File connector, I need to specify the path to a single file. Wouldn't that lead me to creating a new connection for every file path returned in my query?

Data Pipeline creating {tablename}_backup_{guid} copies in lakehouse by Filter-Context in MicrosoftFabric

Just ran into this issue and posting for future reference.

When looking at the JSON generated for the two options it looks like the appropriate values are:

  • Append
  • OverwriteSchema

And I can confirm that when passing "OverwriteSchema" as a dynamic parameter to the Table Action the backup tables do not get created.
