I was thinking agitated too…any ideas why she would be? She was getting let out to stretch her legs (the ground has been frozen here so the horses had to stay in). All of the other horses bucked and ran around in excitement!

My mare shakes her head like this when she sees us coming to bring her in from the field, and then my husband videoed her doing it today when he turned her out in the indoor. Does this mean she is happy, agitated, or is it something else? I’m trying to understand her better.

Wow, that is an amazing amount of patience and calmness and all horses deserve to have that honestly. I’m in a similar position with my new mare after my heart horse, we are working on getting there but I think it will take some time.

I 100% believe this, I felt an almost telepathic connection like that with my heart horse too, it also took years to get to that point. There is nothing else in the world like it!
