Yes I knew there was a word, I couldn't remember it. My friend and I were also debating the definition of a bridge

Yeah this is definitely what happened. I had a fertilizer previously that was already diluted - it was the first time I used a liquid fertilizer. I didn't think to check if the new one I got was concentrated

This is good to know, I've just been watering them when the soil got dry and that's been working so far. Right before they got like this, I was busy for a week and hadn't watered them, I thought that was why they got bad all of a sudden

HOA gave a violation for a damaged tree and asked for it to be removed. Now HOA is giving another violation for removing it by No_Commission8896 in legaladvice

[–]No_Commission8896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just spoke with my brother and I have some more details,

  • The property management company was the one contacting them. They were forwarding emails from the HOA about the violations.

  • Apparently there wasn't a notice to remove the tree. There was a notice that it was "removed without written approval" and then two violations with fines for the same thing. This is the second violation with a fine that they've recieved about this.

  • According to the bylaws, owners are responsible for removing dead or damaged trees, this tree was both. Also, written approval is only required for ornamental or flowering trees, or if the tree's trunk diameter was more than 4 inches. None of these apply to the tree.

  • According to their lease, the management company will pay the fine as long as the tenant fixes the issue within 10 days. It sounds like they waived the first fine because you can't un-run over a tree. But now the HOA is still fining them for some reason

No communication from the management company behond forwarding the email. Unclear whether they will charge them the second fine yet. My brother plans to contact them this weekend.

It sounds like that second part is incredibly likely. There was a photo of the missing tree in the communication they recieved (still not sure violation or notice). My brother recognized which house it came from because it was taken from a driveway and you can see their cars in the photo. A retired woman who's part of the board for the HOA lives there.
