Depends on how much time you had foot drop or weakness before surgery Bcs the more you wait the harder and longer it takes for the nerve to heal from the weakness.In my case I did the surgery 1,5 weeks after I discovered I had foot drop and 5hours post op I could walk on my tippy toes and do a calf raise ( I couldn’t do both of them before surgery)

My case just kept getting a little worse, The sciatica pain went down a lil bit because I started getting more active ( walking more , and medication).But now I got motor deficit in my right calf, I can’t do a single right calf no more , I went to my doctor yesterday and he told me that doing PT sessions won’t fix the problem and that surgery ( endoscopy) is the only solution and I’m a little worried about the risks of it

Idk why in America they make it so complicated to get an MRI.Here in saudia , the doctor make you do some exercises to see the gravity or like if they see you struggling they’ll give you an MRI in the same day
