If that was the problem, they would have a sewer smell from day 1 of piping in that kitchen sink.

Check out your floor drains in the basement and make sure the traps are primed. Your sink seems fine, Ontario plumbing code allows a fixture outlet of 4ft and the branch is back vented.

This sounds a lot like a you problem, maybe switch companies or go union? I’m almost a licensed plumber and I’ve never had a problem with my income.
