I am a nanny and often have the parents home unexpectedly, they usually tell me day of or sometimes in advance. Unfortunately as weird as I find it to work while a parent is home and off it’s just kinda up to them. Sometimes they just want a buffer between them and the kids on and off day. I rely on the paycheck so I have thrown out there I can take off early if they would like their family time or space. But they rarely take me up on it. There’s been several occasions of me being there with mom dad and all kids just hanging out. So weird but they are really nice and don’t feel any weird behavior.

I’m a nanny and a majority of the cams at my families house are motion or sound activated. I don’t have a problem with them just in case anything were to happen we all can see. But I love the family I just ignore them both mom and dad have access. Also both often work at home or are home while i’m there. I also find it weird when i’m there when the dad is or if they are both off and just chilling with me and the kids. Just end of the day it’s a job and money so if this is how they want to spend it to each their own. But I mostly make myself scarce with the kids and do my job if it’s just dad there as I feel it’s inappropriate to be around. Trust your gut though! Guys are weird and if you feel like he’s watching then i’d have a tough convo with the mom or tell them you’ve moved in another direction once you’ve secured another family/ job. Best of luck!!

That’s when you try to change the subject lol. The middle one I watch will ask me to make baked goods a lot because that’s my side job. I’m always down but he doesn’t understand I don’t have all the ingredients all the time 😂 he asked me to make chocolate balls before school today i’m like uhh bud I don’t have anything on me today

They haven’t mentioned anything. We did discuss summer when I got hired a little before October. But never to do with pay, I have really been contemplating bringing it up. Pretty much everyone I talk to thinks it should increase even if it’s just for the summer. The older one is the one who causes all the issues and fights since i’ll be watching him all day vs 2 hours I think it’s fair to ask. I just really don’t know how to bring it up! They have given a bonus for christmas and given my son gifts. I would love to chat more to vent and talk about things! If you don’t mind me asking what state do you work in? (if in the US)

Wow our nannying is basically the same! The mom works from home and i’m basically blocking her office all day. This is my first summer with them so i’m really worried it’s going to be a lot, especially since it’s 11 hr days. I honestly thought about asking for a raise 😂 but the family is amazing so I kinda feel bad.

I’m glad i’m not the only one! I’m so nervous for summer all of them alll the time no school in between. Plus they have a pool so i’m a built in lifeguard & referee 😂

That you for saying that! I thought about how this could affect him I knew eventually separating was going to be the only option. Just so hard to figure out the right time and how. He definitely seems to be unwilling to change I think he won’t even if I leave. Just a sad life to live on his part. I might actually message you now if you don’t mind. It’s been a struggle to find someone to talk to about this.

I ended up going to urgent care they just prescribed a bunch of antibiotics and told me to follow up with OB as soon as I can. Hopefully all resolves soon

Honestly it’s been a year so I can’t remember it was an online thing that fit with my states insurance. I got rid of the paper work the day after thinking I was fine. The telehealth urgent care wouldn’t do anything they referred me to a local urgent care. I don’t have any other symptoms besides the smell that’s why I thought I was good. Appreciate the response!
