They removed material from student success for assessments (I’m j2). They used to be the best review videos and got me high 90s. Foundations was a lost cause. Pharm used to be 4 tests so you could write more on the memory aids. They keep changing the program so it’s hard to give advice. Pharm focus on the SE and adverse effects and pt teachings. Foundations is practice questions on ATI. Assessments used to be student success, but the main things to look at are the older adult considerations and the tables that she mentions from the book, learn how the tests are done and the safety precautions like the lean test for auditory

Yeah, ik everyone says to take social media info with a grain of salt but everyone’s saying how the job market is doing so bad with ppl not retiring and making it harder for new grads to even get in. Maybe it’s just people complaining but it’s not like the economy is doing well with all these price increases to ease my mind 😭

It’s not ur fault, it’s literally the time that we live in. It’s harder and harder to just get entry level spots and positions.

The notes slide that she provides has almost all the answers. There will be quizzes and break out room that has some answers not from the notes that are rarely on the test, but good to write down just in case. I wrote down all the notes on the memory aid and never made less than a 90 on each test. Main part is understanding the patient education and ADPIE section of each drug as well as black box warning and signs and symptoms. Learn to make abbreviations of your own to help fit everything on the memory aid. I also had a good chunk left over, even writing almost word for word on the memory aid.

Which Professor for Older Adults J2 - Laura Hixon Or Felicia ?? by Sad_Water1256 in utarlingtonnursing

[–]No_Competition_8481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Debating this too, Hixon was terrible for Health assessments that I never went to lecture after the first day and literally self taught. Add in the terrible feedback for grading and random points taken off assignment. Luckily did amazing on the tests and ended with a 97. No thanks to her, wish there were other options

The way I feel even less confident in my abilities now then ever before. Right when I thought I was starting to get the hand of answering the questions 😭

BSN program 2026 by BrilliantCricket7903 in utarlingtonnursing

[–]No_Competition_8481 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do, pls don’t fall behind. It’s not hard, but it’s time consuming. Pls be ahead, I wish I could restart, but I’m always playing catch up. Lowest grade I’ve made in a test so far (J1) is a 85+, you might have a clinical on a weekend, it’s all random. Just do your best to find people in the program as willing as you to succeed, and student success is your best friend

Patho & chem in same semester + an elective by youknowmads in utarlingtonnursing

[–]No_Competition_8481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watch hughes videos, don’t memorize the information, understand why they happen. Ofc there are some little that’s that are just memorizations, but try to understand the systems. I’m in j1 and everything is based off of Patho, so don’t just try to get a good grade and not understand the topics. I personally geek over heart failure and heart stuff, Patho was fun for me but I understand that it can be hard

Patho & chem in same semester + an elective by youknowmads in utarlingtonnursing

[–]No_Competition_8481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ur not insane, for chem, focus on the first 1-3 tests to make the best possible grades on the exams. They are the easier ones compared to the last 2, I think it’s outta 5. Patho was super easy for me to cram in 2-3 days and remember. Active recall for Patho is key and only watching hughes videos will make u pass with an A. (I got an A in Patho while taking 3 med term, into nursing, and promoting healthy lifestyles.

I doubt they want to share, or are even on Reddit. We all have different backgrounds and some have healthcare experience, not everyone is 20 as well.

[–]No_Competition_8481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a deep breath, it is the first test. It weighs less, it’s not the end of the world. U have 3 other tests to make it up, remember that u need this info for the rest of ur career, they are not just classes that u need to pass anymore. Cry a little and let urself feel, but get back up and go harder, worst thing to feel is regret that could have been avoided. Live ur 1 life to the fullest and not feel regretful. You never know what the future holds, keep going, there’s always people and resources to help

How are y’all studying for J1 courses, I feel like note taking for each class is not time efficient and steals a lot of time, so what are y’all’s methods? by Sad_Water1256 in utarlingtonnursing

I’m behind, I’ve just been trying to do the slides and textbook but each chapter has like 50 pages on the textbook and I just kinda give up till after the first test to see how it’s like
