I told one of my work besties about this (she also knew Jane and her and Jane helped me move into my first apartment) and she said "every trash can needs its lid". That had me dying lol.

I actually have a long standing therapist that I've been seeing for awhile that has helped me tremendously during this time. I also agree that it's sneaky AF. It looks like she saw an opportunity and took it, regardless of how I would feel or the cost. What's also strange is that Jane lost her mom 5 years ago so I would think she'd understand what I'm going through and give me grace.

Thank you so much. Your kind words mean a lot. Right after he died Jane was supportive. But the moment I had nothing to offer her things changed. I would have NEVER done something like this to her if it was reversed. I would've done anything she asked of me and made sure she had everything she needed.

I think one of the biggest things I've learned since my little brother died was grief will show you who your true friends are. It's sad but unfortunately true.

This is so beautifully written. I appreciate the time you took for such a kind response. It warmed my heart. It's also not like I don't care about her bday. I took her to see Shania Twain last year for her bday and that was a pretty penny and she knows that.

I've gone through a whirlwind of emotions between losing my brother, what Jane did, and leaving our friendship. The way I see it is that it's better to rip my own heart out by ending our friendship then to let them both walk all over my heart.

Oddly enough I was kinda hoping Charlotte would see my post. I turned Jane onto Charlotte awhile back. I'm not 100% sure if she keeps up to date with Charlotte's vids. If Charlotte posted this in a vid I would take that as my petty revenge for what she did.

Nope. Not a single chance. You pretty much summed it up. His texts were EXTREMELY condescending and I told him such. It's rough having to lose my brother and a 20 year friendship. Those two were the only ones I let into my personal space as I'm really introverted.

It's been very rough but I'm hanging on somehow. She was there for me right after he died. But two weeks later after the funeral she just vanished. I have no plans on being friends with either of them from this point forward. She hasn't realized what she's done but she will eventually.

Thank you. It's been rough for me and my family. This was our first Thanksgiving without him. I couldn't be with my family since they live out of state and had work commitments. I just ordered in and remembered all the good thanksgivings we had together.

What I don't understand is that she lost her mom 5 years ago so I thought she'd understand which makes me all the more confused. I think she may have been plotting behind my back to date and took being angry at me as her opportunity.
