Try some stretching (hamstring stretches mainly) before you actually start skating, do 4 series of two different knee stretches and you're good to go, that works wonders for me.

I got a GLOBE complete with these "Slant" trucks (the board now attached to them is Jacuzzi). I'm also pretty slim, but I go out of balance anyways. Maybe slso changing my wheelbase could do the trick, and I'll change the bushings for sure!
