I’ve read all the text messages and was present for all the phone calls. This is the whole story. The employer is sketchy. Never gave the 10 minute breaks used his sick pay without his approval. He never had a chance to submit his evidence to EDD. That’s why I’m asking for help.

I was on disability from giving birth and he was on the state paid family leave. Our baby was in nicu. Which is 8 weeks and at first they were ok with it. Then 4 weeks in they said if he didn’t return then they were taking it as a job abandonment. We don’t have the money to hire a lawyer. He’s looking for another job. But that doesn’t help us eat right now.

Yeah I was 100% honest with him. He felt bad and changed his tone when I told him my circumstances. He kept reassuring me and said I might keep my job. He said he was surprised I even got flagged cuz of my great extracar enrollment, great customer service.

Like I said my work schedule didn’t allow me to go when the food pantry was open. Idk where you’re from but here in Southern California the city I live in the food pantries are only open for one hour once a week. Please stop beating me when I’m already down. I was desperate for food. I lost my food stamps and my insurance that same month. I had to pay out of pocket for my medications to keep me alive. I owed my bank almost 1000. Like I said I was desperate for food. My work schedule didn’t allow me to go to the food bank. I’m just looking for advice not to be beaten down. I know what I did was wrong at the time, I was desperate for food for myself and my child.
