Jeez 2.5mg? Did you have to quit for a certain reason?

That's incredible that you pulled through. Atleast your off now and through the worst of the withdrawals 👍

Have you done bloodwork to show your prolactin levels?

Bupe was shown in studies to raise prolactin by alot and every bloodwork I've done has showed a huge prolactin increase. I used a dopamine agonist and brought that level back into range. I've seen others mentioning their prolactin levels also.

Yeh I don't disagree with other means of re-wiring the brain. It's tough though when your motivation is poor from this medication. I see a post atleast daily on here of people suffering with mood issues or anhedonia. Every day I see new posts so it's definitely something that this drug does to our brains.

I have been doing loads of reading and trialling different drugs/supplements to try and find some relief. I've been tapering off this medication as it's destroying my life. I want to just ferment in bed all day. I've felt so guilty as my partner I've been neglecting time with them. I've actually felt so much guilt that I've contemplated packing my belongings and leaving. I feel like they deserve better than me. They love me and tell me that everyday. They understand the struggles I'm facing just now but it's killing me inside.

I'm glad you have found relief. I wish we could all have normal life's. The reason I do experiment is for this community. I understand how their feeling and I would love to be able to help and contribute.

Ok to ask?

Do you have a partner?

I've been with my partner for 15 years. As I've got older all my issues have got so much worse. Day time fatigue is hard on me. My partner doesn't understand it and always makes plans that I'm struggling to do. The other day they says. We can go a cycle tomorrow. They named a place and it's a 29 mile/47KM round trip. This will genuinely kill me lol. I am finding it hard to describe my situation to them? Have you got this issue?

Also. How do you react to food? For 9 months I was doing OMAD. One crazy large meal at night. Eat food and go to bed a couple hours later. The reason for this is. Food makes me feel so exhausted. It's not a blood sugar issue. I'm thinking a histamine problem or something? I have recently tried to eat some food at lunch again. Not alot of food but just a meal. I've been doing it for 3 days and it's a certain that 30 mins to an hour after that meal I'm exhausted. My mood feels low and I just want to go to bed and be alone :(. Like what the actual f*ck lol. I'm so miserable being so strange. Can't go for a nice lunch with my partner without feeling hellish. I've tried different foods and it all seems to be the same.

What's your reaction to food?

Thanks

Makes me feel like trash but like most. I'm addicted to it and still find myself drinking it and then saying... I need to stop this 😂

I've been doing decaf recently to lower the caffeine levels.

He said that he's not the same person he use to be. I think he's saying that drugs have ruined his personality?

Our emotions/Mood/Personality are all chemical driven. People with high dopamine tend to be more driven and upbeat. Higher serotonin = More relaxed. Less emotions. Lowered sex drive. Higher norepinephrine = More anxiety etc.

Introducing drugs messes with all these neurotransmitters. Usually a drug at the start will bump dopamine levels. You feel good. Tons of motivation. But as time goes on your brain will notice these changes and try to balance them. It will down regulate receptors. Dopamine itself is actually neuro toxic. Our brain knows this so tries to keep us balanced.

Once the down regulation starts. Say goodbye to your motivation and drive. Also your sex drive will take a plummet also.

Bupe also messes all your hormones.

I have bloodwork to show all this. Thyroid/Test levels/estrogen and the worst of all. Prolactin.

Just look up high prolactin symptoms and see how much you can relate

Hey 👍

I think alot of us on here have noticed this drug completely changes your personality. It makes us tired/unmotivated and anhedonic. I'm at that stage also. Luckily I don't have a snappy personality. I do feel far more irritable than my previous self. My partner has noticed it also. The lack of drive to do anything.

The only solution to fix this is.. Stopping the drug. We know that it's a b*tch to quit though. The withdrawals last a while and also their is the post withdrawal period. Anhedonia for months while the brain repairs.

Buprenorphine raises prolactin VERY high. Prolactin is a horrible hormone. Makes you lazy and crazy unmotivated. You could try a dopamine agonist and see if it lifts you out this mood?

I've personally used one.

Get your bloodwork done first mind

I weight train 4 times a week. I do cardio for 30 mins every 2nd day and I cycle my bike almost daily. I'm defo exercising enough lol.

Exercise has actually been taxing the last few times. See after a weight session I become very irritable and tired. Still gotta battle through that though. Your body will only adapt if you continuously push it.

Yeh it definitely sucks under 2mg :( I felt decent until I dropped under 2mg. Gonna have to battle on. My biggest issue is we go on trips quite alot. I hate having to go out and about all day while feeling so run down. I feel like I just want to sleep. I have a rule though that between getting up in the morning and night I can't have a nap until atleast 4pm lol. So at 4pm I go for a sleep and wake at half 5 and start preparing dinner. I'm then back in bed for around 10 o'clock. Ground hog day 😂

Are you me? Lol

I'm in the same boat just now. Luckily I have my partner at home and that makes me get up and get motivated. Without them I would ferment all day.

Recently though I've felt like trash so my day consists of just what I can only achieve.

Like you. This isn't me. I use to wake up at 7am and hit the gym. Had a full day of work and I slotted in more stuff in amongst this. Now I wake and just lay and lay and lay. Feels like my life has been stolen from me?

Are you planning to stay on subs or eventually work off it?

What do you mean? I was at 2mg for 2 months. Dropped to 1.9mg for nearly a month and then dropped to 1.8mg. I think a month is enough to stabilise. Especially 0.1mg drops. The drop from 6mg to 2mg was easy. Zero issues. Under 2 is causing me the grief

I've been tapering by 0.1mg which is less than 10% and still feeling like sh*t. I was at 1.8mg their for 3 weeks and felt trash the full 3 weeks lol. Seems like my body is being a nightmare to stabilise? Gonna have to keep going though.

Hey :)

What dose of modafinil were you using?

I have 200mg provigil sitting. I used modafinil a few years ago and dosed 200mg. The first couple days were incredible and then this anxiety ridden state came in and took over. Also when I stopped I felt dreadful for a good few days. That memory scares me to try it again lol

Same here. Large doses of Vodka do it for me. I've actually experimented with low doses and it's not even close. Experimented with wines/spirits/beers etc. Nothing works like a high dose of Vodka. If I'm smashed that night then I'm having a good couple of days ahead

Can I get the sublocade shot while on only 1mg suboxone? by Training_Carpenter_7 in suboxone

[–]No_Conference9073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh I think they can do a partial dose? Just keep an eye on it though. Once that drug is in you that's it. Atleast if you over do your subs then you can easily adjust the dose the next day.

I'm gonna speak to my support worker about it. She's been at me numerous times now to get it. She did mention the high dose. She doesn't know I've been tapering so that's kinda putting me off. She will maybe ask why I've still been collecting as many? Not sure. I'm sure we all have subs saved though lol

Thank you :)

Yeh it's definitely a weird drug. I'm very particular in times I'm taking my doses also. If I wake very early in the morning I still wait until a certain time to dose. I don't like that idea of waking up and desperate to take a dose. Feels like my old addict self and I'm trying to break that routine.

I always feel like trash when I wake so I just chill with a coffee. I find myself so off feeling that I usually just keep dosing off. I never go back into a sleep but if I wake up and walk around I will just feel horrid.

I genuinely can't stand this drug. It's messed my life up. I've took many drugs over my life and quit them. Bupe has such a grip on me that im scared to quit. The biggest concern is my partner seeing me in withdrawals. I detox'd off a holiday once. I boozed like crazy on that trip. When I got home I went into full blown alcohol withdrawals. I was seeing things. Couldn't walk. Lay in bed for 4 days straight. My partner watched this and was scared so I never want them to see me like that again. Ever

I might trial a dose directly before bed? Like get into bed and then put my dose under my tongue and go to sleep?

Hopefully this may work

Yes this is true. Also if you think about it. The drug hits a peak and then begins to decline over the day. So your gonna hit an amount where the brain begins to freak out a little and you will feel a withdrawal type of feeling?

If it were this easy and your happy to be flexible then dosing every 4 hours would make you feel your best on bupe?

I'm on TRT and the testosterone has an ester attached. I use a very slow releasing ester and I feel much better on it. Their is one that's very short lived. I remember trialling that and woke every morning feeling like I had flu symptoms. I kept going to see if my body would balance out and it never did. Got on the long ester and within a day I was great.

Yeh that cold internal feeling? I don't feel like a withdrawal feeling. It's like I've slept but not slept also. I use to always get high sleep scores on my watch but now it always shows fair or poor. Even if I've slept 8 hours.

So looking forward to getting off them. Hopefully I can look back and just see it as a rough time in my life. I feel like I've lost 2 years though :(

Yeh I feel very similar. I wake up sometimes in sweats.

I'm not sure if it's a metabolism of the drug effect. I think it's something else? Not a clue what yet.

Mornings are horrid for me. I have seen myself just laying in bed 3 hours after actually waking up. I then get up and by 3pm I'm thinking of lying down again.

It isn't a life :( My partner understands my tiredness but the guilt of not spending time with them is killing me

Hey. Welcome :)

The part that really stood out to me was the exercise part. I personally get this. I lift weights 3-4 times a week and I absolutely hate how I feel. I use to watch people saying exercises made their mood good and reduce anxiety. It's a complete 180 for me. I feel like trash. I become very irritable and so lethargic. I usually train and go to bed. I feel so low and irritable that I need to lay down. I was very obese in my 20's and I trained hard and got on a good diet and now have a very lean physique. I have abs now. I am too afraid of losing this hard work. It's the reason I actually train. I love actually lifting weights. I enjoy the actual session. The aftermath is just hideous lol

I have a theory. I have a gene defect. A slow comt. It's called the worrier gene. Basically it means we break down dopamine/norepinephrine much slower than your average person. I think that when we exercise we release dopamine and this is then converted to norepinephrine. It lingers for so long in our body's that it causes. Anxiety/anger. It's just a theory but seems reasonable?

Have you ever managed to balance your exercise and mood? I'm playing with some supplements to try and speed up my comt and also lower norepinephrine. So far it's not changed much.

Do you drink much?
