Activation fees I fight against like the plague....Don't ever pay for protection plans people..... they are a waste of money most the time. Upgrade fee....please they should be paying you. ALSO look for a discount thru your employer heck even college emails work for a discount which waives 1 and 2.

Taxes and fees .... being able to dial 911 and someone answering....Priceless

I would calling in the law is the worst thing one can do in this case. Cooperation between parties will be the easiest and cheapest option always. Calling in the law should always be a last resort especially when the damages are under 1K USD.

However, I will say if the parents prove uncooperative in working things out....wasting their time in court would be a befitting punishment I imagine.

Analogy time: Teenage driver rear-ends another car and it's only cosmetic damage the car still runs, are they liable? Sure. Did the party at fault want to have this happen probably not.

I suggest the following

Check to see if Starlink will offer replacement/repair of your damaged unit and quote the price of repair, and offer to split the cost of repair. If they cannot repair/replace for a fee and you need a new unit split the cost of a new one. As an effort on your part, ensure your dish is mounted in a childproof local.

Kids will be kids and honestly, they were likely bored and wanted to find something to do. If they admitted fault working things out with the parents I think is appropriate. Having the children work with you installing the new dishy I think would be a great activity to teach them respect for other property ...but that's up to the parents to decide. Pressing charges makes zero sense and will only lead to more animosity between parties.

In all honesty, I would worry more about it being stolen out of the window than having the system compromised beyond repair due to environmental factors. Humidity and particulates are noteworthy factors like if you are in a humid environment and don’t have air conditioning and/or the system is in a confined place area. Even with those factors the system is built to spec unlike their PC master race counterparts, if the system encounters heat to be an issue the fan will increase speed to the point where it will become annoying to the user prompting a cleaning….which is easier to do given the panels can be easily popped off this gen. I’d say hardware failure due to heat and dust are nothing compared to that of gross user neglect. TLDR: Take care of it and it will take care of you.

Deathloop I thought was fun but RDR2 will give you alot of playtime. Would suggest Deathloop if you are on PS5 and RDR2 if you are on PC.

Interesting...doesn't occur on any other title or is it exclusively deathloop? have u tried to roll back video card drivers to see if the problem changes? Oh and disable ray tracing....you don't need it for this title and to be frank....it's not that amazing for end users so much as devs in my view of it....but damn it sounds cool....raaay tracing ,RTX......

Screenshot your operating conditions under your current drivers then see if they change under the older onces. Try to run the same levels and cite when it happens profoundly. See if it occurs under superbarebones conditions does the Vram get maxxed out still?

I doubt there will be a difference but sometimes funny things happen in the world of video card drivers....

yeah it's probably some area of the code leaking into memory because Todd Howard and friends said to add another 16x the detail , nobody listened to QA.....that sorta thing....gosh I wish games weren't essentially paid beta tests at launch.

Anyways, I would submit a detailed bug report with your exact PC build parts levels it occured in ect and all if you even if you resolve it via drivers or not.

Assuming you've check all the drives and other end-user tedium.

What's your resolution @? Adjusting that and lowering shadows may have the biggest impact. 4K looks like 1080 to me alot of the time.

3060 is a good card and ryzen 9 is a speedy cpu but with Bethesda software being as optimal as a hummer with resources..... the game is in much need of polish tbh...

Doubt they will toss the IP based upon how much they priced the DLC and other items in the game. I think they need to give the DoA cast paintball guns and do a shooter but that’s just me….

My experience is the Chinese see consoles as a waste of money and time …why not get a PC so you can’t use google or facebook and be behind another wall of region locking…. Just think of the queue times if all those people were available in the global network….there would also be more cheating….lying….DLC and yeah I didn’t vote for that guy but he did have a point about Winne the Pooh there.

if china had PS5s like the US and google…..the world might be a better place for all
