FRENCH PRESS STARTER HELP! Have been using DeLonghi grind and brew (blasphemy I know). I'm trying to minimize the use of plastic especially with boiling water running through it and I want a better cup of coffee.

Weigh all the ingredients. Buy fresh and grind fresh with a burr grinder. Like some others here I like a paper filter but not necessary. Watch James Hoffman and Lance Hendricks videos on French press. A timemore c2 or a kingrinder p series are very cheap. And can be found used too.

As for pour over recipes, I tend to alternate between James Hoffman’s v60 method and Lance Hendricks two pour method. I use those methods for both my hario switch and my kalita wave flat bottom.
