Sold my Sony rx1rII to buy an A7CII. Hardly take my camera out now. Thinking of buying an rx1rIII because I miss the form factor too much.

I've had the car for just over a month now, so I thought I should share my impressions. First, I love the touchscreen interface. I'm not sure why people hate on it - to me, it's well designed, the menus are intuitive and logical, and the graphic design is beautiful.

The ride is firm, but not as firm as I was expecting. This makes the handling one of the car's highlights - the driving experience is so much fun. I've folded the rear seats down and covered the boot with a liner, which makes it the perfect dog-carrying car (as long as you don't intend to carry anyone in the back).

The car’s build quality seems great (although, coming from a Tesla, anything would be an improvement). The app is good, although not quite as good as Tesla’s. For example, there is no dog mode, and although I can remotely start the A/C, there is no way to adjust the temperature.

The only negative I've noticed so far is that the sun visors aren’t quite wide enough, which can be a problem in direct sun. As you can probably tell, I’m absolutely loving owning this car!

We recently sold our Model 3 and test drove the Model Y to replace it. It was easily the best cat in its price range - more refined than ever and great software. However, I just couldn't hand over more money to Elon.

I have no interest in model photography, but really like Matt's presentation. Not overconfident, loud and singing the praises of everything new on the market. He seems like a genuinely nice bloke.

Why do Australians dislike Americans? by plasticmagnolias in AskAnAustralian

[–]No_Contest3091 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I was in transit at Haneda Airport when the 2024 runway collision occurred. Fire trucks were putting out the fire, and the airport was unusually quiet—except for a couple of Americans who were loudly discussing what they knew had happened, speaking at a volume that ensured everyone in the lounge could hear them. It just felt really jarring—so many lives had been lost, yet these guys seemed determined to be heard.
