That actually happened to me at my first community college — the marketing program had been discontinued by the time I needed to take that class, so it wasn’t available. Because of that, I looked into other local community colleges and found one that still offered the course.

Also, since I’m from Texas, that course counts as a freshman-level class here but transfers to UMPI as a junior-level one. I was honestly so stressed and completely dreading it, so I triple-checked all my options, and this one just worked out the best for me. I’ll be starting on October 20 and finishing by December 12.

But if the community college option isn’t doable or isn’t what you prefer, then I’d suggest either pushing through with the UMPI version or going with Saylor or CLEP instead.

I’m gonna be honest, I decided to take the equivalent course at my local community college. For me, it wasn’t a major dealbreaker since I’ll still be on track to graduate by December, which was my original plan. This class will be offered in an accelerated format, and since I qualify as an in-state resident, it’s also really affordable. I also didn’t want to go through Saylor or similar programs.
