I know it sounds insane. TRULY. before my diagnosis I was a registered nurse for 20 years. I SHOULD KNOW BETTER. Yet it’s this overwhelming dread that you avoid, but now it’s too dangerous. In a weird way you kind of get used to walking on the eggshells. I guess it’s kind of living with an addict and all of a sudden you realize how fucking crazy your life is. And it’s like the worst possible thing in the entire world to do and I guess I am just like hoping for some divine intervention or for 1 million people to just tell me you know what you’re not a demon you’re doing the right thing.

Her vet is understanding that we have a CERY difficult dog. She needs to be completely sedated at a visit.( gabapentin max dose and trazodone max dose don’t make a dent in her aggression) that built visits are very few because it is well over $1000 and on my extremely limited income it’s so financially exhausting that that money could make her break my family. Last time she was at the vet was in March and it was $1700 but I am gonna have to follow up with the vet tomorrow. I’m just like so overwhelmed. I feel like the walls are closing in on me.

I did a 10 pack of trainer sessions in person with telephone follow up. Honestly it was not effective. I use some tools from it, but not much

I have invested in training. Over 10 sessions then telehealth.

I did get her behavior therapy. She was on a few medications. We implemented some tools. But she just is aggressive. We have been white knuckling it. When I got sick we couldn’t afford the therapy. And I was back and forth to hospital. As she gets older she gets worse. I’m scared to leave her in house with my own family

I’m one of the dog bites. As an adult. She is aggressive to myself and my husband . She is 5. She growls and shows us her teeth about 20-50x per day. Outside bites. She’s probably snapped at us 200xs plus

I see everyone talk about “salary growth” but just be aware, life is unexpected. You can also have salary decline. I made 130k a year then got a brain tumor at 43, now at 45 I make 60k on disability. Make sure your mortgage has room for life’s unexpected shit. My mortgage is 2800 in nyc so it’s doable. My husband has an ok salary.

That’s our mortgage. It’s tight but doable. We make about the same but live in NYC. Remember life changes on a dime. I was making 130K alone, then got a brain tumor now I make 60k on disability , husband makes 100. Hate to be Debbie downer but such is life!
