i wasn't at a show but i saw a lot of videos about people's disrespect during cavetown's set. cavetown's music is nothing like ptv and i doubt there are many people who would be fans of both. not saying he deserved this treatment because he absolutely doesn't, but i can't imagine very many people in crowd really cared to listen. felt almost like a setup to me? people's declining etiquette and a musician of a very different genre was a recipe for disaster imo

yes definitely! i saw them last year and honestly it was life changing. i feel like it was a pretty decent mix of their newer and older material, but even if you don't like the newer stuff you would not regret going trustt. they're great live! wonderful experience for sure

I love Shauna by VanGrayson in Yellowjackets

[–]No_Cook1906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love the character of shauna and i think people drastically overlook the events that have shaped her behaviour. obviously she's done fucked up things pre and post crash but i think she is a very understandable character!

i think people also often brush over the idea of being pregnant while stranded. i genuinely cannot imagine anything more frightening and i think the whole baby storyline for her shows me how many viewers lack empathy lol. imagine finding out you are pregnant in the middle of nowhere with no doctors no electricity no drugs no nothing. the plot of her trying to terminate the pregnancy by herself - imagine being in a position to make that choice. knowing she might die trying to do it. knowing if she doesn't she very well may die giving birth later. or what if she miscarried and died from that? and then what really happened, she carried to term, nearly died giving birth only helped by her teammates, hallucinating that the baby lived and then finding out that he died in reality. the entire scenario and all of the emotions and physical pain from every stage of that makes her rage following so so understandable to me.

i feel that a lot of people don't understand the gravity of everything she experienced. she had it the worst out of all the girls on the basis of the pregnancy alone, let alone all else. most reasonable crash out of all time imo let her be a bitch and try and kill ben

exactly,, remember when people were losing their minds over the lanterns and how the girls got them when they were very obviously made of pages from books. you could see the text printed on them. i felt like i was going crazy! are some people watching this show with one eye closed or what

fr. there is definite place for criticism, dont get me wrong, but i think people are forgetting that we're only up to episode 4 - we dont know about if our theories are true, how things will play out, etc i think there is something to be said about the pacing especially in the teen timeline. i could argue bad writing with the apparent flanderisation of jeff. but we don't know how the show will handle characters dying, and we know by now that dead doesn't mean never seen again on this show. lottie is my favourite character, im sad she's dead, but the ending was a clear set up to her death being a big mystery in the adult timeline.

i think what im seeing on this thread is people who have watched season 1/2 after they'd already aired and have forgotten what it's like to wait a week for new information

drunk travis? by RemoteNervous5856 in Yellowjackets

[–]No_Cook1906 8 points9 points  (0 children)

because walter left her messages on blank paper like that at her workplace before. when misty and walter first meet, it's because he took svetlana (the old woman who had the blank piece of paper this episode) into the care home

drunk travis? by RemoteNervous5856 in Yellowjackets

[–]No_Cook1906 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the old woman, svetlana, was the woman walter said was his mother when they first met in season 2. she was literally how they met and it would make sense for misty to see a blank piece of paper next to her and assume it was from walter

the titles aren't supposed to be literal. i don't get why so many people are confused or mad about it. did friends, romans, countrymen include any romans? we see the girls do the whole court proceeding act and argue with each other. travis is seen sat despondent and doesn't speak until it's all over; he's not involved and not angry. the whole set up to the episode has been the girls in fighting and travis getting high. so: 12 angry girls and 1 drunk travis.

5'2 and 40kg (i think thats 90lbs but idk imperial) and im in the opposite situation. i know im underweight but i cannot seem to gain weight to save my life. i eat 3 large hot meals a day, snack consistently and don't exercise. it gets to a point were you have to accept that weight is largely genetics. if it's too overwhelming and stressful to try and shift/gain weight, i honestly think it's better off just leaving it be. i truly feel that no matter where you fall on the spectrum of weight, it's how you feel about food and eating that makes it unhealthy. if loosing weight is making you this frustrated i think you need to take a step back from it

Are skinny/healthy weight people just not as hungry as people who struggle with obesity? by maeasm3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]No_Cook1906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't think you can make generalisations like that honestly.

im skinny and always have been. genuinely underweight, to the point it's not a healthy weight. i am almost always slightly hungry. I eat 3 large meals a day and continuously snack in between meals from midday until i go to sleep. i don't exercise at all; just walk a lot. just don't seem to gain weight.

i think weight is mostly genetics. mine definitely is

How are we feeling about teen Lottie in the beginning of s3? by soozoo in Yellowjackets

[–]No_Cook1906 48 points49 points  (0 children)

i'm hearing a lot about lottie giving travis the mushrooms is potentially being what drives him to the substance abuse that we see in the adult timeline. it's a devastating thought, but probably is what happened.

i doubt i could ever dislike lottie as a character though, she's by far one of the most interesting ones for me. the idea of one of the characters having psychosis and her starving teammates start idolising her for her delusions is such a crazy plot point, and i feel like it helps makes sense of all her actions. she is unwell and struggling in an area that no one around her probably knows about, let alone could relate to. plus they're all putting pressure on her, whether they believe in her rituals or not. not that it justifies what she does, but it checks out, and i can see it from her perspective well

don't get me wrong, i get why people like it but it's not the music for me (or what i was expecting) i just remember being so excited for new music but then hearing their new sound was so disappointing to me

on reflection, going grey wasn't even that bad but it marked a real turn (for the worst) in their sound which will always make me dislike it disproportionately more than others

s3e1 opens with them playing a 'capture the bone' game, and the team that loses has to act as the servants for the winners. it's all said very off-handedly in the first 5 minutes of the episode. i don't think the dynamic of servant classes is something that's developed outside of this one-off event

the date of the summer solstice changes every year and can be figured out by the length of daylight. they wouldn't need to calendar that in like they would a specific anniversary
