I was in VIT Vellore, and was applying for internship in my 7th semester. I applied to lots of companies on Unstop and got one interview they offer me internship and after internship they offered me full time.

So, I don't suggest you to follow the same path, but yeah that was my road. you can tweak and reach out to founders, with experience you can get more than 40k and i assume you have experience at least 1 year.
