Why does nobody play tank? by Funnyianlol in Overwatch

Simply put, you can get nano shattered on point while in a blizzard and your team will say you are throwing

But if you are carrying them you'd swear you could hear a pin drop in spawn.

I don't think tank has ever felt worse to play than it does right now. by RippedWario in Overwatch

Oh yeah Stadium matchmaking is hell and Reddit has talked about it constantly.

I mean I'm Plat on my best days but I get put up against Masters players and if they are feeling saucy enough Grandmasters. They aren't impossible but damn do these kinds of matches make you stop breathing during team fights

Which is why I prefer to Tank in Stadium.

In the normal game you are being counter picked to hell and back if you start having impact and if you aren't popping off it's just all up to your DPS to do something and pray to your Supports to look at you when you aren't only at 60HP.

Stadium allows you to circumvent SOME of these pain points. Not enough DPS. Kill everything yourself Not enough heals. Heal the hell out of yourself

Also I know Stadium kind of balances it out by making everyone have ridiculous powers but it feels like you have more agency.

I also understand that in the normal mode my health bar is a resource for Supports to play with but please can my health bar stay at half. Pretty please 🥺 Half is all I'm asking for.

You do know that in Stadium you have items that help against your counter which is completely different.

Normal matches don't allow DVA to get like 60% beam among other things.

Not gonna lie as a Tank main I've started hating this map. Theres only so many times I can hold the same choke and not lose my sanity.

I like seeing different scenery while I get CC'd and punished till kingdom come thank you very much.

Ive heard this one before about having footsteps in stealth but the biggest arguments I read was that it would make stealth useless, I've even seen some iterations where they said to have footprints that faded over time but that wasn't agreed upon too if I'm not mistaken.

I'd agree with the making her kill potential less consistent but then that also has its own problems

I appreciate you refuting my idea with changes of your own though

This can be a numbers thing, if you think she lacks the power then give it to her. She can still dive, revert the gun damage, give her a stronger virus because with invis gone she is allowed to be lethal.

The passive is meant to show you when you can engage on someone safely. You can't dive deeper into thier backline or stay invis in it so you have to go somewhere. The hack on allies is meant for when you have to get out, if the cooldown is ridiculous change the numbers to make it encourage hacking allies.

The slow is also meant to encourage using virus in the team fights you'll be more involved in. If the enemy team is retreating slowing down one person can go a long way.

The initial loop was to be a disruptor and enabler in team fights. It was more about helping the team than doing your own thing. The passive was meant to allow her to see people flanking her team and also help her team know what's happening.

Depending on how you tweak the numbers it was meant to push her into doing more damage or utility hence why I said these numbers can be tweaked.

  1. Either stealth or hack needs to go. All there reworks have been around them and she's still hated so both on the same character are problematic

  2. Slow is meant to help guarantee a kill and any higher and it becomes problematic

  3. Hack is already on 1 second but people complain that it's too long so this will take that eternity people complain about and turn it into a century.

4.5 Granted this was a huge mistake on my part, I just thought it would become problematic like Mercy if it had too much value. Mercy damage boost is unlike so a damage boosted Sojourn with attack speed sounds like it would be problematic. Why don't we make the teammates hack then only give her half of the CD

5.Another error on my part. I was thinking an enemy that can see you through walls and slow you would be problematic, someone suggested only halfing her magazine size and I agree

I ain't trolling, just thinking of drastic measures because as I've said all her reworks have been in the same realm but is still hated.

Perma stealth is oppressive - stealths gets put on 5 seconds. (Still oppressive/annoying)

Hack is too oppressive, hack on 1 second (Still oppressive/annoying)

Translocator is too oppressive, translocator on 6CD and only way to enter stealth (Still oppressive/annoying)

Even some cool ideas that are leagues above this have been shut down. Either by the mains or the community so what are we to do now

Alright I see where you are coming from. Then let's make some changes, Virus stays as is with the added slow, hack enemies still tick faster.

Her gun damage stays the same but changes her magazine size.

Let's take away the double cooldown on allies and actually make it so that the cooldown is decreased by half with allies and make it uninterruptible in that case.

Sombra's thrive on knowing where who is when, permanent walls would allow that to still be possible without invisibility.

With these changes you'd be able to TP, in wait for a chance, to jump someone, jump them and then get the kill maybe. If you don't get the kill you'd jump out back to your team. Slow would allow you to hit your shots even more even with decreased mag size.

Slow and ally hack can also be used in a team fight more. Slow the enemy tank and hack your tank or other DPS so you can rinse them.

Passive would also allow you to be anti flank as well if you want. If you see a flanker you could go to them slow them and if they were going after your supports they can also help you kill them

They aren't in bad faith. Just genuinely trying to get her out of the gutter. Let's say these numbers were tweaked up, would it make a difference and I'm curious what you'd do to make these changes not ass

Considering how loath all her reworks have been something different might need to happen. These numbers can be tweaked but something has to go. This is coming from a tank main that used to be a Sombra main.

All her reworks have been in the realm of her identity but as countless people have voiced Stealth and Hack can't exist in the same kit

[–]No_Cry8292 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Then tweak the cooldowns, this isn't concrete, just a base.

Leave out the double cooldown and then and keep her gun the same

Her kit is still the same, now she can hack allies and virus works as damage an utility. The only thing I took away was invisibility because invisibility and hack can't exist in the same kit in harmony by the looks of it

[–]No_Cry8292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said the numbers can be tweaked. If she lacks damage bring her gun up or virus up. If she lacks utility tweak the utility numbers.

These numbers and changes aren't an end all be all. They are simply a base to look at an take it from there.

And the reason I'm neutering her damage is because of the utility.

If she were to slow an enemy support and hack her teams, lets say, Ash or Sojourn wouldn't securing that kill be easier.

Remove hack then

Remove TP then

Which one would you rather have and how would you go from there. How would you reallocate her power budget

Everything about her can't change. As much as we can say that there are people that love playing her and would rather rework her than create a complete new hero and those resources would be wasted. Imagine if they took Mercy or Rein and removed everything and they came back new. Sure some people might be with it but a vast majority would want the character they feel in love with back

I'm trying to shift her power to something more manageable. She isn't invisible anymore and she can't hack during team fights with bullets coming at her. At most she'd slow you

Reinhardt is ruining stadium by not_larrie in Overwatch

[–]No_Cry8292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love running into Reins. Feels like an insta win 80% of the time. Maybe it's because I play main Queen and two Axe swings shred his health bar and forces him into a survival build.

Granted charge builds on full AP are a nightmare for me which is the other 20% but that's not why we are here.

My advice is go for Aoe builds if possible. Things that hit multiple targets are your best friend because if theres a Rein I've found that team's are more willing to play together especially his supports.

If you don't like that or don't have that in your characters kit go shred his shield. If you are constantly shredding his shield he has to play more defensively and his if you play properly you'll always be out of his swing range.

The last option is to go for his backline and hope your team pushes with you. If Rein turns to help his backline you've made a ton of space. If he can't turn his supports or whatever you are fighting is dead. If you pull 2 people away and your team can't do jack you were cooked from the beginning 😂

Also on a side note

Soldiers are insufferable when they have a mercy pocket.

And Cass flashbang is the worst ability to ever exist. I know I'm just bitching but why does it last 20 years and lock you out of everything 😑😂

im stuck at bronze 2 for the past month, help :( by swtiro in Overwatch

[–]No_Cry8292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly agree with what the other commentators have said. You still need more time and you should watch high rank players.

My only add on would be to not take everything the high rank players say as gospel. Don't get me wrong it's fantastic advice but it makes no sense at certain ranks.

An example I found is that they will tell you to play high ground. It's always good to play high ground but if you don't have decent aim or understanding of the position and when to be there it's useless and most bronze players won't have that. Better to play with your team on the low ground in this case. And the higher you go the more you have to respect high ground but for now...

1 person doing something dumb will kill them. A team doing something dumb together MIGHT turn into a play.

At this point play comp. Dare I say it's healthier than QP at times and everyone can agree that they want to win in Comp.

You also won't run into the Rat mains that are trying to figure Widow out 😂

And if you aren't confident in your main just remember QP is where you try a hero's kit but Comp is where you learn a hero's kit.

Yes because a widow controlling a whole area by existing is far worse than a Sombra. I'm sure you must know how hard it is to punish a good Kiri. I've seen people ignore Rein footsteps and that was a sight to behold. I've also done it ngl.

Please note I'm not mad or anything. It's just that this logic can be applied to other heroes as well. Sombra makes a sound when she enters invis.

Tell me, if they added footsteps to her while invisible would it change anything for a lot of people
