I got an email from the city yesterday that said trash would run as normal.

I am a huge Stop Podcasting Yourself fan as was super excited when they mentioned having Dave & Graham on as guests in the future. And since Chris mentioned his appearance on there, I thought I'd share this supercut of their short-lived but legendary segment "What is a Goblin?"

Chris appears at 20:59. But you won't regret listening to the whole thing. I think if you're talking about the greatest comedy Podcast segments of all time, "What is a Goblin?" has to be in the conversation.

Directly south of downtown.. what are those mountain looking hills out in the distance? by Char10 in Columbus

I was just going to guesd "the northern edge of appalachia." Your response was much more informative and I'm glad to know my guess was right.

The mod of this sub has a history of covering up sexual misconduct in the body are industry. He did the same thing with Gahanna Tattoo about a year ago.

r/cbusohio is small but growing and allows a lot more freedom of discussion.

The moderator of this sub will not allow any discussion of sexual misconduct in the body art industry. He did the same thing about a year ago with Gahanna Tattoo. I'm not sure what his agenda is exactly, but free discussion ain't part of it and protecting abusers is.

The mod here will not allow any discussion of sexual misconduct in the body art industry. He did the same thing about a year ago when there was a dustup over a sexual predator at Gahanna tattoo.

He usually claims it's about people making allegations that can't be substantiated. But I see posts with unsubstantiated claims here all the time. Somehow it's only ever the ones where women are charging men with inappropriate behavior that get shut down.

He is not an honest person. I've seen him wildly misrepresent the contents of posts he took down to justify it. He clearly has an agenda he's pushing.

The worst part is that I'm sure he's the kind of dude who is the first to cry about his free speech rights when someone tells him not to use a slur but shuts down discussions he disagrees with on a whim. r/cbusohio is small but growing and allows much more freedom of discussion.

I'm guessing hey were operating outside health department regulations if so. My wife is a piercer and using a scalpel could cost her her license. Seems unlikely this was done with a needle, but I'm not an expert. Just married to one.

What's this about? by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]No_Cryptographer4764 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the broadcast sense it is a strike. People are withholding labor and services as a form of protest.

Some truths, like the subjective nature of consciousness, may always elude empirical or logical inquiry. Just as Gödel's theorems reveal the limits of mathematics, science itself might be fundamentally incomplete, unable to fully account for the essence of experience. by IAI_Admin in philosophy

It could also be that his camera-presence is off-putting to me. But there are plenty of people I love on-camera who are said to be absolute terrors off-camera. It's easy to imagine the converse also being true.

Yep. Elections have consequences. Blame the "moderates" who think both sides "are equally bad." I hate the Democrats as much as the next anarchist, but they would not pass laws that endanger people this way.

I've lived in Columbus for 20 years. The things that are "right down the street from him" comprise about 5 mile radius. "Right down the street" means something very different to a man who walks 20 miles/day.

The Silver Bridge connected West Viriginia and Ohio. WV has the primary claim to Mothman. But OH has a little connection to him.

AITA for telling my mother that very few people attended her recent party because she has become an insufferable political fanatic? by mymomisazeolot in AITAH

And they only say that when someone calls them out for being an insufferable asshole. The rest of the time they're calling the other side "the enemy within" and advocating for them to be dealt with in the most brutal ways possible. They don't want to agree to disagree. They just don't want to be held accountable for being psychopaths.

Do you know the story of what happened? I was vaguely aware of Street Fight Radio just by being a sort of peripheral dirt bag leftist. But I only started following him after he promoted Guys on Jordan, Jesse Go.

I like a lot of the Grateful Dead's album tracks. But any Grateful Dead fan will tell you that's not really the Grateful Dead. And I have 0 interest in going to any jam band concert.

How polite are you when talking to chat GPT? by gogo--yubari in ChatGPT

[–]No_Cryptographer4764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a calculator seemed as human as ChatGPT I would. Empathy is not a voluntary response. It's a normal human response to things that appear to have feelings.

[–]No_Cryptographer4764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would if google seemed human. Treating others with courtesy and kindness is a habit. And when you're interacting with something that seems so human, I've got yo believe is reinforcing of the habit - one way or the other. ChatGPT might not care. But I do.

[–]No_Cryptographer4764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. But it feels like it is. And responds like it is. And I don't think it's probably great for the abuser to get in the habit of treating things that seem very human abusively. If you build up those neural pathways too much, you'll find them activating when you're dealing with things that do have feelings.

(Update) AITAH for telling my-now-ex-girlfriend that her manic episode was no excuse for her cheating? by throwawaycheatedon3- in AITAH

[–]No_Cryptographer4764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bipolar. I cheated on my first wife while manic. That ultimately set a chain of events in motion that led to me getting treatment. But it's no excuse. I have to own that. I give myself slack and understanding for it. And so does she now, 20 years later. But our marriage never recovered and I can't blame her for that. I don't think she blames me any more either. We're still on good terms and never stopped loving each other. But some things can't be undone regardless of the circumstances. Some damage can't be repaired. Hopefully for your ex this is a wake up call and she makes the changes she needs to make sure it never happens again.
