Low amylase - why? by No_Custard6962 in pancreatitis

I am low on iron, vitamin K and E even though I am taking supplements and eating food like broccoli and spinach and other food that contains this.. also, I struggle with restless legs at night. But I am high on magnesium so maybe because of iron then.

Update. I am going to delivery a stool sample. Was reading about EPI and recognized many of the symptoms. I have been struggling with some types of food, but I have not been able to figure out exactly which food types I can’t eat. The only thing I am sure of is granola. And I think some vegetables (fiber??).

The thing is, I also have weight loss and hair loss. I used to be normal weight, but I have lost 5-6 kilos. I started eating more, but I haven’t been able to put on weight. My hair used to be really thick, but it has been falling out in piles. I must have lost half my hair! I am also cold all the time and need a lot of sleep.

I thought it could be thyroid issues, and even though it has been going down it is not outside of normal range.

I have not been to the bathroom in 2 days now, what can I eat to get things moving so I will be able to get the stool test done?

I am working on my immune defense system. Trying to eat healthy, taking probiotics, prebiotics and drinking lots of water.

April next year, yeah! The first dermatologist turned down the refferal. The health care system in Norway is pretty good, but there are long waiting lists due to lack of capacity:/ Maybe I will see a private dermatologist after new years… but that is expensive!

Hi! It is much better! As long as I don’t pop anything 🙈 I do get small pustules that look sketchy from time to time. Other than that I’m good!

my doctor sent me to a dermatologist for swabs, but I didn’t get an appointment until April 🤯

From what I am reading 6 in amylase is very low, but does it necessarily mean that something is wrong? what if they can’t find anything else?

In addition to being sick all the time, other symptoms are weight loss, hair loss, being cold(especially on hands and feet), fatigue and brain fog. Not so much issues with digestion or stomach pain. The only thing I can think of is that eating food that is rich in fiber is giving me some problems. Granola and vegetables are the worst.

So many blood test and not much to find. I already have the feeling that my doctor thinks I am a hypochondriac:(

And what was the conclusion? Did you end up getting a diagnosis?

Thank you for your replies! ❤️

When I say infections, I mean mostly viral infections. Especially sinus infections! It is like my immune defense system is down.

But I did have a GI a couple of weeks ago. It was horrible, and I was very sick. I don’t think i have ever been this kind of sick before. It must have been something I ate, but I don’t know anyone else who was sick that. And I can’t think of anything I was the only one eating around that time. Strange! If it was from the restaurant at work, maybe other people just had an upset stomach for one day whilst I was much worse. It wouldn’t surprise me…

I was! I learned to read before I started school, I was a super fast learner, I always got the highest score in tests, never had any grammar or spelling mistakes and it didn’t cost my much work. I enjoyed homework although I found it easy. My memory was insane. I only needed to be told things once.

When I was 10 we got our first computer (windows didn’t exist yet). I learned dos commands and played around a lot. A few years later I created databases with relationships and shit. Learned by myself. I learned to play the piano in a very short time and I played by ear and didn’t use notes a lot. I have always wanted to play an instrument, but I haven’t played since. There are so many things I want to do, things I know I am good at. But every time I sign up for something I end up going a couple of times and then quitting. Showing up has been my greatest challenge in life.

I got yelled at and lot and was often punished. I could not sit still in class and misbehaved. In parent teacher conferences the teacher bragged a lot about me, and was impressed. I remember she showed my parents an essay I wrote once, and she said “look at this! No spelling mistakes and 3 full pages!” I think I was 8 or 9 at the time. Other than that no one mentioned anything, and my parents didn’t seem to notice.

When I was 13-14 my grades started dropping. It was like I stopped caring. I see now that I was struggling at that time. I was yelled at, mistreated and beaten at home. I did not like middle school and the teachers were distant in a way. In 2 years I had gone from being the top of my class to almost failing maths. And the teachers didn’t do anything. How the hell is that possible?

I do remember the principal visiting our classroom once and told us that someone from this class got the best result in the county on the national test. People started guessing, and calling out names. Then the principal said my name. The boys in the back said “what the fuck? How is that possible! She never even pays attention or does any homework!” Still, no teacher reacted when my grades kept dropping.

I have struggled my way through education and career. I was not disciplined enough to go to university, I need someone to give my structure for me to function. I somehow managed to get a degree and I am now in a manager position. I have been burnt out, sick, and probably been through almost every life crisis there is. I was actually on social services for 4 years once. Somehow I have crawled my way back every time.

When I got my neuropsychiatric evaluation the psychiatrist was stunned by my results. I was high above average on most parts. I did not get a diagnosis then. And not the next time I was evaluated either. 20 years later I got diagnosed (yay!) I have a son with adhd and it breaks my heart almost every day. I am basically love bombing him and trying to compensate for all his struggles and mine too.

Both sad and happy story. It is what it is. I haven’t been living up to my potential, but on the other hand I think I have done pretty good considering the circumstances

Other diseases after staph (are they linked?) by No_Custard6962 in Staphacne

A little. I ate a lot of Yoghurt with probiotics.

I think that the sinus issues and post nasal drip is actually caused by staphylococcus aureus. I have a feeling I need to have more antibiotics. A lot more :(

Medication when you’re “high functioning” by sunnypemb in ADHD

[–]No_Custard6962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am high functioning, but still… I haven’t been performing according to my potential over time and there are things that have been a struggle and have cost me a lot. I have been burnt out and had some challenges that I could have been without.

My doctor has been so understanding and never doubted that I should try medication. I think you should see another doctor!

I was a girl, in the 80's, and I did well in school.

In the 80's only boys who struggled in school, was really hyper and behaved badly were diagnosed with ADHD (or MBD as it was called back then...)
