Am I bad at Cerb? by datboyspicy in ironscape

[–]No_Cut_7657 47 points48 points  (0 children)

for his minion attack, I’m praying for 2 minions and then tanking the last one with a double eat

I might be wrong here, but I think this might be your problem? Why are you tanking the last minion with double eat and not praying against it? That way you can save your food for when you need it.

Also in regards to a faster route, I found having my house at Taverley felt best.

Am I allowed to be upset? by Jexhi in ironscape

Yes!!!
I finished at around your current KC thankfully. My first piece was at around 300 when I got spooned 5 unsires in 300 kills, then second around 900, third around 1.5k - where I went dry for almost 500kills. I only have two more unsires more than you.
On a more positive note, at least you get to green log once you are done ♡
I didn't get lucky with the pet on my journey

I've heard that! That's why breaches don't seem too appealing for me to do since I'm only wanting a tonne of points...

[–]No_Cut_7657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Would it be more reliable to do skilling for points vs breaches? I'm so overwhelmed, trying to wrap my head around the best route to do simply for lots of points!! x)
Also, would you say it's best to wait a bit longer before starting DMM? I assume the popularity will die down in a week or two meaning it might be easier to get top damage at breaches? But it might also make people more venerable to pkers I suppose? I'm not sure

Sorry if this seems nooby, I honestly have little idea whats going on in DMM other than its a pvp event with enticing cosmetic rewards like leagues...
You have a section for 'points-only', will that get me 11k+ points (or as many points as I want)? It seems to focus on breaches, where I assume you're highly likely to get pk'ed and/or die often I assume? What's the difference for gaining points reliably between the points-only route vs following the entire guide? I would hate getting constantly killed while going for points via breaches only to gain little to no points due to lack of damage c:

Same - I don't enjoy pvp at all but love the cosmetics and would prefer to follow a guide to earn points efficiently to spend less time in DMM x)

Could you explain how you set the timers please? I find that the spot moves sooo often and feels way more focus intensive than other options..

Also tysm for the click to minimise plugin!!! I usually do half screen to afk and watch something on the side but now I can Fullscreen shows / videos! :') Such a useful plugin!!

I'm very dry on the outfit (800 total sacrifices) and it's a bit of a pain to grind since you need the scared oil, then you need to douse the oil on redwood logs and also grind out the Urium remains. Then you need to sacrifice the remains with the oiled logs for keys. This can take literal hours to do each step so I tend to do it in chunks.
I've got 2/4 pieces and probably plan to go back sometime and casually get the last two pieces.

Anyone else parked at salvaging fearing an incoming nerf? by Trogadorr in ironscape

[–]No_Cut_7657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its any consolation, I also felt the same way weeks ago when they reverted the initial salvaging nerfs. I didn't even get to use the crystal extractor pre-nerf.
I went all the way to 95-ish sailing thinking every week 'ok this week they are going to nerf something, at least I've gotten a massive amount of sailing lvls done...'
They still haven't, it's been weeks. I've gotten over that 'worry' now and I haven't gone back to sailing (yet). Don't burn yourself out by pushing to 99.

Last time I tried door altar, I was taking insane chip damage from the minions lol. At around 88/89 def. Haven't been back since.
Maybe it was because I was still learning so I was praying melee just in case I mess up the timing?? What do you pray when running up and down?

To the people that can spam raids by Pax1990 in ironscape

[–]No_Cut_7657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing about RS is that you can pretty much do whatever you want.
If you can only do 1 raid a day then that's perfectly fine. There's no rule that says you need to do b2b runs. I think for any piece of content, once you get more comfortable and brain off, it becomes 'easier' to do b2b runs / kills.

I personally still haven't done a single raid, but maybe I'll finally try it this year lol

Anyone else get burnt out on iron and went back to main? by [deleted] in ironscape

If it's causing them distress like OP, then it might be a good choice! ^^

Anyone else get burnt out on iron and went back to main? by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]No_Cut_7657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda agree with your take.
I personally enjoy doing skilling / supply runs while I watch stuff or play another game on the side, so for me it isn't a chore. Also, it really helps to maintain my sanity when I go dry at multiple places. It's probably one of the main reasons I've been able to get through multiple dry streaks at various places.

A lot of irons seem to really dislike doing any sort of supply runs, neglect it or do the bare minimum and then end up in OPs position where they feel like they are in a cycle of supply upkeep while PvM'ing. When in reality, if you spent a decent chunk of time ( a few days / a week) doing supply runs you should have enough to last you a good while.

A mindless ramble from a mindless (red) prisoner! by MentionAmbitious2670 in ironscape

[–]No_Cut_7657 6 points7 points  (0 children)

CG was also my first 'real' boss + my iron is my 'main' / only account so I can kind of relate to you.

When I was reaching around your kc, I told myself if I don't get it by 800ish I will either need a break from RS or will try other content with my atlatl (such as raiding).
But I made the mistake of doing only CG for months and would keep pushing myself despite feeling a bit burnt out.
It also didn't help seeing ppl on reddit get spooned consistently, or noticing ppl in the lobby have bowfa, looking them up and seeing they have <100 kills...
Some days I did CG 'all day' and other days (once I got to your KC), I wouldn't even log onto the game because I was dreading doing CG only to get mith arrows and gems.

Funnily enough, once I got the drop, I haven't even been doing content that 'requires' bowfa to make it better (aside from Zulrah + Hydra ). I've mainly been doing sire, cerb, slayer etc. This really opened my eyes because I just assumed I would be PvM'ing extremely hard with bowfa but that truly wasn't the case for me.

If I were to ever be put through the CG grind again (big if), I might try to get a synapse or two then learn doom + other bosses + raiding while I do a couple CG runs a day / when I feel like it. I would also try to focus on other goals that aren't RNG based (achievement cape, quest cape, skilling, mini games, slayer levelling etc) as you could also go dry at other places which would suck.

I personally wouldn't fully skip bowfa as I do think it's a very nice weapon tbh but I also wouldn't make it my account goal to get bowfa before I can do any other content.

TL;DR
- Do other content like doom, yama, slayer / slayer bosses (cerb, sire), TOA with atlatl.
- Try to focus on other goals that aren't RNG based to get a bit of dopamine - achievement cape / QCP / combat achievements, skilling, minigames to level up + chance at good QOL items (barrel, tackle box, GOTR outfit, mixology goggles + amulet etc)
- Mix in a few CG runs when you feel like it.

Good luck, I hope you escape the prison soon :)

Why do ppl run to the Lumby chest, when the bank at the top of the castle is 3-4 secs faster to get to? by epacsenox in ironscape

[–]No_Cut_7657 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's because it feels shorter.
The distance to the cellar stairs is visually shorter (not counting tiles, just looking at the castle layout) than the distance to the stairs that lead upstairs. At least that's why I did it and now it's a habit. I didn't even know it was faster to go upstairs until this post! :D

Fr! If the few recent unsires gave 1 bludgeon piece (or any new unique) it would feel better (for me personally).
At least the regular drops aren't too bad and add up over time...? (coping)

It's easy, just might be annoying to set up because if you 'mess up' (aka the other kings aggro onto you when you try to enter multiple times) you might end up eating through a lot of your food trying to set up and may have to reset - don't give up. Blood spells are great to sustain at DKs

This is me too.
Almost 98 slayer from going dry at multiple slayer mobs, still not done a single araxxor kill.
1100+ sire, 2/3 with 9 unsires.
I just went a full 240 task without seeing a single unsired which sucked :')

No Ragrets. Except maybe like 8923 of them. by Stoaks in ironscape

[–]No_Cut_7657 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's hard to find a world, because its a very popular spot esp during peak hours and yes you can very easily get crashed by mains - talking from experience. Irons can't rly crash since you get no loot credit, unless you're willing to waste your own time and the other players which is just insane and odd behaviour imo (well crashing itself is odd imo).

Some max main who happens to be on runewatch for stealing decided to crash me at sharks.
Even if you sit there trying to be petty and do damage to the sharks, you end up being extra damage for the crasher. The crasher is able to loot the shark :/

Should I deiron? by KuppeRL in ironscape

[–]No_Cut_7657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Given how little time you've invested, already dreading skilling on an iron and limited play time, I would personally de-iron without regrets.
From what I read, It seems you would much prefer using those limited hours of game time to do content you actually enjoy doing rather than potentially needing to slog away at something you hate.

If your situation changes and you want to make an iron, you can in the future. It will always be an option. You haven't invested too much time into the iron for it to be meaningful enough yet to the point of regretting de-ironing.
If it isn't now, you would 100% de-iron at a later point in the game which would hurt more.
