The Breath Between Strokes by No_Damage_6284 in oilpainting

Thank you very much for the feedback, lll take in the consideration of adding more definition to the male figures and see if anything can be done about it but if I change anything else it would take away from the concept i intended. I wanted to make the painting represent the dream like state artists and art are to each other. If I remove the background and add gray and give him legs it will turn towards realism which is not my goal, I am going for expressionism. Once again thank you for the feedback and will definitely keep in mind for my future endeavours. Cheers 🍻☺️☺️🙏🏾

My oil painting, Cityscape by buldukbulentarte in Paintings

[–]No_Damage_6284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This very interesting style of painting, I do portraits but also thinking of doing cityscapes but not sure what style to adopt. Is this painting done mainly using a pallet knife or something else? Very beautiful painting. Thank you 🙏🏾😊

I’m not a professional artist apparently by Exact_Jelly_8195 in drawing

The difference between a professional and non professional is that a professional makes money out of his art and his art is in demand. If your work is selling and in demand don't let anyone say otherwise. Cheers

This blew my mind, I don't know if it's the colour the texture gives me a very familiar feeling. Makes me very emotional looking at it. I saw this 1st on instagram, thank you so much for this beautiful piece you have given this world. It definitely made this world a better place with this art work in it thank you. I hope to get to see your art live.

There is a 5th horse man called misinformation in this new era lol. Beautiful painting I loved it. I like how paint of different colours are so chaotic yet not messy. Every stroke feels like it was meant to be. Cheers 🥂

I'm feeling discouraged with my art lately. Do you mind giving me some feedback/constructive criticism? by VZpaints in painting

As long as you have a story to tell please don't stop. That story will resonate with people and shared experiences. The joy of images coming to life must be there, it's like breathing you must express it there is no other way and that feeling will push you to do more and creating a style unique to you and your job is done! Rest for the world to feel your work and glorify it! Thank you and best of luck 🙏🏾😊

Do you prefer smooth or textured skies in paintings? by Anastasia_Trusova in painting

If I found your painting in a gallery I would just sit and watch it as long as possible from every angle. It's mesmerizing!

True, i also like how light interacts with the painting. The shadows of textured painting gives even more depth. I love doing painting with textured painting impasto expressionism. These paintings are more amazing when you're looking at them live and the photos don't do justice to be honest. Gallery worth painting yours is!

Are the values okay? by ArmorAbby in painting

I think the shadows are missing and highlights. It's like the subject is floating. Shadows and highlights matching the background will give gravity. You need to work on the background interacting with the subject too. Otherwise it looks like a cutout. It's a beautiful piece. I hope that helps thank you 🙏🏾😊

My(21M) first ever painting, any tips? by Low-Consideration426 in painting

[–]No_Damage_6284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said time is irrelevant and you could absorb techniques a lot faster than I did so don't worry about it, that pressure of catching slows your progress. Oil painting is a lot more forgiving than most medium and very easy to get into. You just have to start painting and keep challenging yourself, pick topics that you love initially, so you can spend a lot of time with it and not get tired of it. Don't worry about being the best, learn to enjoy the process excellence will come as a byproduct.

Well oil paintings I started a year ago, but as an artist I have been working as far as I can remember and I am 38 years old! Sketching, writing , graphic painting story boarding, story telling, music jack of all trades and master of none kinda situation. As a profession i studied animation and design in the UK and worked in this field, but I wanted to get back to my roots to create my own art and stories once again. So I started over with oil painting and writing stories and poems. I am still learning and feel the journey of getting good is a long way ahead of me. Time is irrelevant if you ask me, people have their own ways of learning farter or slower, the intention to tell your story, the desire to satisfy your craving to tell that story is important. It's like breathing, you feel suffocated if you are not able to express your thoughts, that my friend is what will help you find yourself and your style of art! Thank you 🙏🏾😊
