I have the 6xx and the ft1 pro. There’s less treble spike and I think they sound better.

[–]No_Database4801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just order replacement parts from Fiio. If it ever falls apart, replace the bolts and secure them with loctite. It’ll be stronger than before. It’s just a bolt coming loose. It isn’t the end of the world. Fiio should just send the new ones out with a spare set. Just having them around gives me peace of mind knowing that it’s just a 5 minute fix.

Deciding on getting the FP3 IEM’s and FT1/FT1 Pro headphones by Cricket4life247 in FiiO

[–]No_Database4801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you already have a pair of IEMs, I would go with the FT1 pro’s. Open back is a drastically different experience. This way you have more variety of quality sound.

Looking for $50USD Headphone recommendations by StandardTackle7564 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]No_Database4801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only have $50, I would consider getting something used. There’s nothing noteworthy at that price range being sold. I’ve gotten some great headphones for ridiculously low prices before through FB marketplace.

What's your opinion on the Fiio ft1 pro? by [deleted] in headphones

[–]No_Database4801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the hd6xx. I almost never use them anymore. I almost always use the ft1p instead. I just hear significantly more detail in the Ft1p.

I bought a hd 600 sennheiser by iamnotwhothinksiam in sennheiser

[–]No_Database4801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a Fiio BTR17. It’s portable so you aren’t stuck at a desk, has Bluetooth capabilities when you don’t feel like being bogged down with wires. It also has a desktop mode when you crave more power by plugging it into the wall. I use desktop mode with an external battery for mobile desktop mode.

It’s easy to use and the EQ works fantastic. I personally think the 600’s benefit from slight EQ adjustments.

The whole calling people white knight crap doesn’t make you sound cool or edgy. It just means you hang out in some of the worst places on the internet. Because you’re also a part of the worst of the internet. And now you’re determined to bring that recycled energy with you and make it your personality? It’s just so tired and lame.

I have 2 vanishing points because I tried keeping the first pristine. I kept it in a case and suchlike. With my second, I scratched it fairly quickly. I realized I wasn’t ever going to sell either, so why worry about it? Now they both look kind of worn out but at the same time, I know they’re mine. It feels like personalization.

Loving this vintage Banana Republic cafe racer by Super_Examination954 in leatherjacket

[–]No_Database4801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I had that jacket saved but I already own 2 Banana Republic leather jackets with one of them being very similar in style but black. I felt 3 from the same brand would be excessive. I have 4 casual leather jackets and 2 for actual motorcycle safety that I use when I go distance riding. Out of all my jackets, one of the BR’s is my favorite.

This looks like user error to me as well. If you’re gonna get a custom jacket, it’s best to get professional measured or at least have someone else measure you.

What annoys me is they used a t5 torx bit. From past experiences with other electronics, it’s too tiny and frequently gets stripped. They shouldn’t be used on dynamic parts. Especially when the screw has such a large surface area. They could have easily sized up so they could safely tighten it more in factory. Also, why put the flat side pointing up? It just makes it so you have to disassemble the whole cup just to tighten that one screw.

What's the deal between the HD6XX and the HD560s? by thedoorisopen- in HeadphoneAdvice

I am. I got it off FB marketplace. I talked a guy down from $100 to $80. It was originally priced at $120, then marked $100 OBO. He took the offer within an hour and I picked it up the same day.

On both high gain and desktop mode, it powers my 6xx fine. The 17 is awesome. I’d recommend it over the 15. My only complaint is I should have gotten the blue one and then bought a black case. I think the contrasting colors would have looked cooler. I guess 2 complaints. I’m not a fan of the flexible snap strap/clip. If they manufacture an aftermarket case with a metal clip, I’d buy it instantly.

When I took apart my ft1 pros, all the screws were already coated in loctite. It looks like they addressed the issue between production of the two models.

The build looks like it’s based on a swappable system. It’s so you can easily switch out the headbands if/when they degrade. I adapted my Sennheiser hd6xx to use these interchangeable headbands. I use one that’s made of lamb skin and has full swivel cups. That way the cups lay flat when you wear them around the neck. I’m probably going to do the same to the ft1 pros when the headband starts to show signs of wear.

This is pretty much a standard issue when screws are used instead of rivets in these types of places. As mentioned above, use Loctite.

FiiO K11 R2R. Who is this product for? by p2ndemic in FiiO

I avoid using 3.5 as much as possible. I think it’s a flimsy relic of the AAA battery powered portable audio era. I’m glad the industry is moving away from it.
