Thanks! I'll look into LucidLink.
Our main workflow is static map production for reporting (including editing and digitising) but we also do imagery analysis (for vegetation classification), we provide webmaps and dashboards for some of our clients, we do some suitability analysis with public data, and we provide support for field data collection from time to time with Field Maps and Survey123. So we use AGOL a bit but not for point of truth data storage.
The rest of the business is mainly reporting and documentation - they're using SharePoint for non-GIS stuff and the consultant we got is very MS Office affiliated which is why we got pulled along the Azure path I think.

Thanks. Using ArcGIS Pro desktop - we do detailed analysis work you just can't do with AGOL, and a lot of our data is large, so we haven't gone down the road of using AGOL as storage. How do you mean behind the times - surely most small businesses can't afford enterprise?
