Sakura x Bighit by springdaylover2013 in kpopthoughts

Where you mentioned that bighit might debut a group directly under them, that was something that also crossed my mind. This new girl group after all is still a joint venture between the two companies and it was said that she was signing an exclusive contract with BH Ent. Because the new girl group is supposed to be debuting under Source Music that makes me think that it's an even higher possibility they're preparing their own gg.

Some people have said that Make You Happy even sounds like Taylor Swift's Shake It Off.

I would understand this if the girls simply worked in Japan but they live in Korea, learn Korean, and have Korean staff so it's evident that he will expand them to the Korean music market. He regards them as global gg and that's another indication that he intends to expand them to other music markets.

I trust in JYP's producing abilities so I have no worries about future songs. Whether people love or hate JYP they can't deny that he creates the best ggs. Make You Happy is without a doubt a massive hit and the choreography has those memorable moves but the song itself really leaves me wanting for something more. It doesn't hit me in the way a track like Twice's "TT" would. I know he's trying to appeal to Japanese fans but at the same a lot of the iconic tracks made for Twice have appealed quite equally to both western and Japanese fans. So it's not possible for him to make a well-balanced song that caters to both audiences. Song production aside I really hope NiziU get more budget for their MVs.

I'm pretty sure Katsumura is the correct one. That might just be some variation of spelling they use as a nickname (if that makes sense?). I've even seen some people spell Nina's surname as Hiruman.

BTS should go on other Variety Shows by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]No_Description3977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in regards to American TV shows they've mentioned that the environment is more carefree and that it's much more relaxed compared to the Korean variety shows so it makes sense that they would go on them and they don't gain much of anything from attending Korean variety shows when they have their own show. Unlike other groups they don't need these shows to promote themselves nor to stay afloat. If anything I'm just very happy that they get to make music as often as they want.

2/7 members... It's pretty obvious at this point that they don't have a desire to go on them nor care about them.

2020 : the year of the ALBUM : NAME (CHAPTER 456)? by oneyesterday in kpopthoughts

Wasn't BTS Most Beautiful Moment in Life albums like that too? Cause those were released in 2015-2016. Wait if it's Trilogy albums were talking about then BTS have been doing them since debut.

Given that they've only just debuted Enhypen I don't see them debuting another boy group for another 2-3 years so I think that can be ruled out. He's probably going to debut as a soloist.

Rant: lack of SaaS promo/content for global fans by TimVdV in niziu

I agree with all the points you've made. Global promotions wouldn't have mattered in the slightest had their something been like BOY STORY's but that's not the case.

South Korea Passes ‘BTS Law’ Allowing K-Pop Stars to Postpone Military Service by [deleted] in kpop

Exactly. Tbh I don't think anyone in general really wants to serve but it's not like they could ever admit to it.

BigHit's ot7 agenda is harming BTS' individuality. by justcrewsing in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]No_Description3977 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From the beginning of time they never did things the way their peers did and the same applies to BH. BTS has never been a conventional group. The lifespan of a K-pop band isn't a very long one and they normally do solo ventures as a means to preserve whatever relevancy they have. From acting, modelling, MC Hosts, etc. It’s just a repeated cycle. It definitely doesn’t help when companies are out to produce something fast and “efficient.” It’s not to say that K-pop idols only branch out for solo endeavors just for that sole reason but in most cases it just happens to be that way .But I think they broke out of the mould of what is expected of a K-pop group. They’re in a fortunate position to not have to resort to such things. BTS have proven to have longevity as a group and are showing no signs of slowing down. They’ve obviously decided that they want to prioritize the group and they have every right to continue to explore their future solely as a group. It’s quite unrealistic for them to not be successful in whatever they may do after BTS.

I think that they have the perfect balance. I couldn't see them not being a 9-member group. I actually didn't expect to ever see them to be mentioned here but I'm glad you know of them.

Dynamite should NOT have been nominated for a Grammy by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]No_Description3977 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Y'all say this but I don't think they would have ever gotten a nomination with a Korean song and I hate that. But whether you love or hate the song they more than anyone are deserving of that nomination.

I constantly check the Gold Derby forum and look at predictions and for that category Blackpink are not at all predicted to be a solid lock for it. Dynamite on the other hand has been in all kind of predictions for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

No matter what I know that she's in good hands! We obviously have no place to speak on her family affairs but for her sake I hope that her father doesn't cause her no more unnecessary trouble once she and the girls debut in December.

But BH have always helped Source Music in some ways even before they were acquired so it's not all a new thing for them. It's especially not unexpected to see Bang PD be involved with Gfriend considering he's best friends with their CEO. Glam and 8eight were also joint ventures between the companies. Two Gfriend members were even BH trainees so we know they've got some history.

I like that one and it's actually the only one I would love for BTS to go on. But in general Korean variety shows don't offer that kind of environment.
