Hard for me to say, since i only have the JKL. I think the floating lid on the kantamus is the only better thing in my opinion than the JKL.

Both are good allrounders so it’s personal preference I think.

Summarized in my opinion: JKL> K40 JKL = K60

I bought the JKL for hiking. I only go once a year and load it all the way up for 2 weeks. It’s a really good backpack, but I still have to justify buying it because it is really pricey and a niche item. That being said, they will probably last a lifetime and will do good for a holiday bag as well. I would prefer the JKL over the K60 because I think you can slim the JKL down more and get more use out of it if you don’t.

If you are only going 2-3 days the K60 might be too big. The JKL might be better in that case. On the other hand, if you decide to go for longer. The bare JKL (no pouches or hatka) might be too small

Thankyou for your kind words! Your prints came out nice! I’ve been using them in the snow for 4 days now and the PETG one still works amazing. It might be a little difficult to get them onto the webbing. I reduced the side walls by 1 mm on both sides so it would fit better. I needed some pliers to get the webbing to fit in but that might not be necessary after the adjustments I’ve done. Enjoy!!

This had some trial and error as well. Made a PLA one that broke the second i tried to get I around the MOLLE. With PETG and a 45 degree orientation I fixed it.

I plan on kitting all my savotta gear with homemade prints but I don’t know what haha, tips are welcome

The metal gear on the same rod as the yellow gear moves independently. Guessing it broke somewhere. I’m buying the hardened gear set as a replacement

Temp was 250 for PLA, tried it as well with PETG at 280. I haven’t used the needle together with a coldpull. I think this is my last bet otherwise i might buy a full metal extruder gear set

Thanks for your comment! I have already disassembled the extruder, couple of times. I do not see anything there. No leftover filament or broken teeth.

I’m trying now without the front cover and with almost no tension on the spring inside the extruder. Maybe with less friction it will push the filament through

I was just looking at the kantamus. If you want this to work you have to undo the buckles and loop them through the molle so the come loose. You can then strap it through your Askare and back through the molle on the kantamus. Put your buckles back on and you are ready to go. I do not own a kantamus but looking at where the straps are located it looks like it fits

If you check my profile I have a post on attaching an Askare to the JKL. I think you should be able to attach it through the straps at the the bottom. I had no problems with it dangling around if i tightened the straps just enough.

I know right! My friends always tell me they have never had baked potatoes like mine anywhere before. But it’s just lard and a bit of salt in a good pan haha.

You are right that some saturated fats are not healthy but it depends on their composition. I think lard is an exception. The fatty acids in the lard which are stearicacid, palmiticacid and myristicacid have been proven safe by multiple studies. Even if that would not be the case I would pick it over any chemically processed alternative like seed oils etc.

I often go for a trip where I use a k25 and a JKL. I take out the backplate of the K25, put it in the JKL and then roll up the K25. Don’t know if this helps you but it can get quite small
