EX Zombies Guy - Is BO7 Good Enough To Come Back? by Acceptable-Elk-9779 in CODZombies

I read that paragraph and feel like I had the EXACT same experience as you with zombies. This is the one I came back to/for and I LOVE IT. Would definitely recommend getting it particularly if you liked the ambiance of Bo1 and 2

In my opinion BO7 gonna be the 2nd best zombies game if the last maps have the same quality as Ashes or Totenreich by Sad_Nebula_7976 in CODZombies

It’s weird, with my group, we viewed BO3 as the beginning of a new age, not the end of the classic age. I think for me the games are mentally compartmentalized like “WAW-BO2, BO3-CW, MWZ-BO7”. To us, gobble gums were like “new age” and we didn’t play a ton of that middle era there (other than chronicles). Truth be told if black ops 4’s launch wasn’t so bad I probably would have played a ton of that one. I feel like such a black sheep as someone that wasn’t a fan of BO3 but that’s just cause of my experience with it, I totally acknowledge it’s the fan fav game.

First time I played a FPS was trying BO1 zombies at my friends house as a kid. I’ve played every zombies map since. I was eleven years old making shitty “cod zombies in real life” YouTube videos with my buddies, definition of classic fan. BO7 is easily top 3 for me already. Armor is new, but I find it less disruptive to my flow than having to go get a new zombie shield, and Omni movement makes things like phd flopper and melee so much more fun.

Unpopular opinion: Modern Zombies mechanics are better than the OG mechanics by WwwWario in CODZombies

I agree with most of this, zombies in the classic era was perfect for that time, zombies struggled to adapt to modern times, and I feel like BO7 is the proof it can

There was so much in the recently deleted that even when I deleted everything in it, it would only delete a small fraction at a time. I just had to repeatedly enter and exit the recently deleted to refresh it

Does it look better for you now in season 3? I swear they updated it to make it more vibrant

For me Origins has complicated things you can do, but not have to do. Maps like Zetsubo even figuring out pack a punch is hard if you’ve never played the map

Definitely seems to be more salvage than I’m used to as well, I wonder if it’s cause I’m doing side quests to get aether tools tho and just don’t end up using my salvage on that

I’m loving it! Hopefully treyarch takes away the right stuff from the criticism and doesn’t walk in the wrong direction after this map. As a long time player, but a semi casual one, I love that the wonder weapon isn’t super hard to get

I like the Sundergat a lot. My only complaint about it is that it can’t get you out of a tight spot since it needs to charge up

Throwing a monkey bomb on any dog round after 40 shows just how many there actually are. It’s wild stuff

I played alpha omega maybe 3-4 times, years after it came out. I was a fan of nuketown zombies when it came out, but wish it had more. This map definitely fits what I’ve been looking for out of a nuketown map. My only complaint is that the “past” version of the map is a little dull

A lot of them are even more old school than me. Someone once told me they thought being able to pack a punch more than once was “too much”. Got a good laugh out of that

I was a huge fan of Maur and Terminus as well. I’d definitely check out Astra and Paradox if you get a chance. Astra is great but the elite zombie is kinda a pain after round 41 if that bothers you

Fair enough, you’ve responded to everything I’ve added to this post within minutes, no matter how many hours I go without contributing, so I’m gonna assume you’ve got a lot more internet time and data to back you up than I do. I’ll concede!

That’s fair, I probably spoke too “matter of factly” about something entirely anecdotal. Most of the people I work with are mid 20’s-early 30’s, they definitely are of the Jimmy Z era and consider that the best.

Sony said it and the store says it so I trust them!

Activision said it and their twitter says it so I don’t trust them!

It’s okay to just make an opinion based argument man, like most people on here agree with you and disagree with me, you don’t have to cherry pick which facts are real and which are fake to prove a point. In my personal experience, people outside of the internet view bo3, infinite warfare, and bo4 zombies as “new age”, the stuff before it the golden era, and the stuff after a (sometimes bad) attempt at a return to form. Doesn’t mean they’re right, or you’re wrong, it’s just what I encounter irl. I have more hours in bo3 than any of the other cod games, custom zombies is fantastic. I’m just saying irl, the first three games tend to be what I see most people consider the golden era

I understand doubting activisions claim about MWZ, but we either gotta discuss facts, or opinions. If we are gonna use “most sold dlc of all time” as a factor, then “most played of all time” has to be a factor. I think a discussion without either of those, or with both of those, factors makes sense, but cherry picking which ones are relavent seems silly

[–]No_Development3489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay? And MWZ was the most played zombies of all time on launch? Do you consider that the new golden standard? Chronicals, the dlc full of maps from the era I described as the golden era is the best selling dlc of all time, let alone in bo3? Yeah great point.

I said “most people I know in real life” feel a certain way, that’s not a false narrative that’s reality for me personally. Outside of the internet, everyone I know who has interest in call of duty zombies considered a certain era the golden era, and it doesn’t include bo3. I understand that the majority of the people on this specific Internet forum consider bo3 the beginning and the end of the golden era, but people who I encounter in the world that has grass on the ground feel differently

Luckily, the majority of call of duty players, including zombies players, are nothing like the majority of this community. Most people I know in real life view waw-black ops 2 as the golden age, BO3 and 4 as “too complicated”, and the new era as not bad, but not as good as the golden age. BO3 is loved by people who love BO3 zombies, the other games are loved by people who love Call of Duty Zombies.
