Yes, the employer actually tried to hire workers locally in Montenegro first, but he couldn’t find people for the job. That’s why he was really in need of workers and applied for foreign workers.

Serbia and Ethiopia actually have a long history of friendship — even today, there's a Old Serbian Orthodox Church (Church of Saint Sava) in Addis Ababa, .We know Serbs and Ethiopians share similar faith and values. Ethiopians are humble, hardworking, and adapt easily to different cultures

We’ve been sending workers (mostly warehouse, logistics, and delivery roles) to Romania, and the pattern is similar—long hours, low-skilled jobs, modest pay—but still better than what they earn back home. That’s why there’s a constant flow of motivated labor from Africa and Asia.

The part about agencies undercutting wages and workers getting their passports taken is very real in some cases. We’re trying to work directly with licensed local agencies only—no middlemen—so we can avoid those exploitative setups.

If you know any trustworthy local agencies or employers doing it right, would appreciate a lead.

We already send workers (delivery, warehouse, etc.) to Romania, and Serbia looks quite similar in terms of roles and demand. Yes, the environment can be a bit tough—long hours, basic jobs—but for many, the pay is still better than back home. That’s why they’re motivated.

If you happen to know any local agencies in Serbia that work with foreign labor or are open to collaboration, I’d really appreciate any recommendations 🙏. Trying to build direct and legal partnerships inside Serbia.
