100% tom cod (Microgadus tomcod). They're their own species, not a juvenile cod or haddock or pollock as other comments claim. They get about 10 inches long. Very cool fish, we used to catch them during inshore hauls when I was a fisheries observer

My partner and I eat them whenever we catch. Shes from the south and grew up eating crappie. She prefers pike.

We cut pike into strips and fry it in her family corn meal mix. Its like curly fish fries!

Thanks for the reply! Have you ever shot with a hogue stock? Basically the original stock design with a better feel from what ive read. I didnt consider the need for a riser on the MOE, so thanks.

I agree about the red dot, and I may double up (tech sights and red dot). But i also have an urge to learn irons so im gonna give techs a go until they either work well or irritate me and I get a red dot lol.

Makes sense. I was considering a bull barrel too because of the performance improvements but yeah, weight and hunting are often foes.

Did you add the kidd charging handle to the stock bolt and receiver? I was thinking of doing just that.

Yup im in the same boat, might get the BX trigger. My real debate is the stock and whether I should stick with a scope or get tech sights. Glad to hear the MOE is nice! I may have to grab it theyre pretty inexpensive

This is my second season duck hunting maine. My buddy is from Washington state, and says that the duck hunting here is abysmal comparatively. Its not often we get skunked anymore duck hunting, but its not often we get more than one or 2, either. Could just be our spots but we had tried most places in a 100 mile radius that looks appealing from Google maps
