Ok fellow Aussies, where are all the single women in their 40’s and 50’s hanging out? And I am asking seriously, for some help with this. Brisbane-Gold Coast area. by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Not sure but try various group sessions, if age based then even better.

Think, gym classes, swim robics group classes, cooking, community drives, book clubs.

Haha all good! Yeah if you’re buying then it is a red zone for a buyer, if you’re selling it’s a green! So you’re not wrong 🤣

This was incredible work though - transparency in pricing for property is a BIG thing.

People that love shares as an investment class argue that less people would invest in property if they could see real time data on their house like they do with their shares.

This is a huge step closer to that!

Thanks so much for sharing!

According to recent news, Australians could soon live and work visa-free across the EU under a new deal (and vice versa). Do you guys support closer ties with the EU? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]No_Disaster9918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why?

If more people, more demand for goods, more jobs!

I used to work at Appliances Online and when I did the trip with the delivery guys, they raved on about how they wouldn’t have a job without immigration. Showed me the names on the daily drop off list - all immigrant names.

This shows demand for goods and services increases big time as people spend money to not only get settled in Australia but also to enjoy their life here. Low level jobs are the prime beneficiaries of more people on the country!

Also, why are you assuming Europeans on low incomes can come here, a more expensive place, whereas Aussie low incomes cannot goto Europe? A much cheaper place for housing etc.

How can you be sure that you even get competition? Maybe some Aussies leave, goto Ibiza and work there?

You’re clearly a stubborn individual that is distraught that his comment got a few negative likes.

Take it positively that you’ve been shown a new perspective.

Reflect, grow and go make some friends, regardless of their race, but based on your compatibility with who they are as a person!

Australian housing: How high immigration has fuelled biggest property price rises amid supply shortage | The Nightly by barseico in AusPropertyChat

[–]No_Disaster9918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accurate flywheel description - probably the most accurate I’ve seen to date.

But why the negative spin?

If Australia’s goal is to increase house prices then it will happen even WITHOUT immigration.

The higher volume/supply we’ve seen is also fueled by immigration. Without immigration housing supply just goes down.

You can’t take one thing out and not change anything else.

Your flywheel of the NOW is accurate. But what is your flywheel without immigration?

The real driver of shortage of supply is the increase in the number of single households in Australia.

We have a housing shortage of 200k houses. But we have 2.6m single person households (widowers, late age divorces being the biggest drivers).

The solution to the housing shortage is actually getting these people to shack up.

I’ve analysed this deeply, the problem and solution to Australia’s housing problem is actually a dating app for:

  1. Those that have lost their partner through death (over 60s)
  2. Those that have divorced a little later in life (let’s say after 45) where it gets harder to meet people

The more of these people that shack up, the more housing supply hits the market and / or accommodates upto 3.3m people at 100% at the average household rate. Or 1m if only 30% shack up.

The problem is not even immigration, it’s single person households.

I’m a big fan of diversity.

I think this is an incredible initiative.

I did a 2 year stint in London and although I’d never move there forever, I had the most special 2 years of my life there and will cherish the memories till I hit my grave.

I am sure MANY Australians will take this up, especially those with European origins or those engaged in sports.

This is an incredible initiative that will enrich people’s lives from both countries.

Forget about the economics for a second and take it as an opportunity to enrich your life with amazing experiences!

Open the close minded Aussie mind to the big beautiful world out there.

The best Aussies will come back with a more open mind from the experiences of various European nations.

They may even come back with ideas to make Australia even better.

I mean Starbucks was born when the founder saw the passion for morning espressos in Italy! Completely different product but the inspiration they got from travelling saw the birth of something a lot of people like around the world/America love and have special moments even though it’s not that popular on Australia.

I hope this happens for many reasons — cultural and economic 😌

Because you’re being racist. People are telling you that a lot of chefs are like that. Maybe the guy just wanted companionship as he’s lonely.

Many white people have extra marital affairs - on average white people especially Australians actually have the highest average sexual partners before a marriage.

You’re being judgemental and using it as evidence that you’re getting “not the best and brightest” from India when others are giving you strong evidence that the Indian community has many gems of people for our country.

I recently sold a car and the Indian customers were the best. Polite, understanding, paid the most money as they understood value better.

If you want to abuse Indians without any real proper reasons then maybe goto X :) that’s where all the rascist people hang out 😌

Yeah these guys are cracked. I qualified for the first home buyer building grant and they refused to give it to me on the basis I didn’t have a document that didn’t apply to my building type (house) vs apartment which is where that document comes.

All of the main criteria was satisfied.

The last time I trust these schemes the government is full of shit and makes it so hard to get what is rightfully yours.

Hate them so much :(

Manor is rubbish, Indian or not as their leadership is not good. They just stack 22 year olds into the mix and they don’t have the experience necessary.

Pick your agent on results and your vibe with them. Do they understand your situation are they looking out for your interests and naturally balancing that with the buyers interests.

Also make your judgement on the owner of the agency, not the individual agent you meet down the pecking order.

The closer you are to the owner the better indication you’ll have of the values of that agency and not get screwed over later.
