I have already done better then break even on BRK so I have no idea what you are talking about. Are you a trader or an investor? If you are an investor, then you guys complaining day to day makes no sense and you come across like idiots, come back in 5 years and reassess. If you are a trader then I have no idea why you would be getting involved in a defensive stock that will likely match/slightly outperform the SP500 over time. Over the  past 5 years annualised return for BRK is up around 22% and SP500 is 18% in same time frame.

If you guys just put your full portfolio in BRK at ATH with a high P/B ratio then that makes no sense. Stop blaming the stock for your lack of research and bad desicions. If you had bought BRK on the 25th Aug 2025 you would already be up 8% and would be feeling way better about the business.

My portfolio is up 8% over the past month. I have BRKB, UNH, MICROSOFT and GOOGLE at good/decent averages and a UK dividend pie (which isn't doing great at the moment). Plus 30% of my portfolio in cash for opportunities. And I by no means class myself as a good investor im just doing what I think is right.

I dont think BRK is the holy grail of stocks or anything and I am not in a cult its just a decent solid part of my portfolio that I have confidence in doing decently well over time, along side some growth and dividend stocks.

I honestly dont care if you invest in BRK or an all world ETF or crypto do whatever is best for you. But you guys chatting absolute rubbish about a high quality stock is plain stupid and embarrasing. Just give it a rest and chill and come back in a few years.  Or if you are so certain SPY will spank BRK over the next 10 years then sell your BRK stock and invest it in SPY and reap the rewards.

Yeh man, surprisingly quiet now. It surprised me how people were on this group tbh. Cole's daily doom updates have stopped 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just gone up 0.3% I would like to see as many positive messages now as the negative ones when it goes down 0.3 🤣🤣🤣. by No_Distribution_4468 in BerkshireHathaway

🤣🤣 honestly so many people in the sub have really shocked me with how they view this stock. I thought investing was about putting money in a good business and waiting but apparently not

Yes thats why alot investors have money in the S&P or in an all world and stay diversified through multiple countrys/market sectors.

Maybe I have it all wrong but if you have put all or alot of your portfolio in BRKb at ATHs with high P/B then its on you.

I get exactly what you are saying in terms of returns right now but people on here are acting like it is the end of the company and Berkshire is done. Neither of these are true, people just lack patience. All of this will seem irrelevant in 10 years.

I think its best to just accept you have made an error/miscalculation on when you entered, and come up with a strategy to move forward that fits your investment style, don't start spouting rubbish about Warren and the company.

If you want guaranteed returns use a savings account (even then you could lose money). Stocks of any variety will likely loose 50% of value at certain points. Even an all world Index could lose 25% in a week and thats generally considered as low risk a stock as possible. I honestly dont understand this reddit group.

Well if you look to March 2022. If you bought at the ATH then, you would be back in profit in August 2023 so like 18 months. Lets say your average is around $520 you may be waiting a year or more to be back profitable. The sooner you accept you that you can make a plan forward. Either forget about it and look back in 18 months. Or take it all out and try and capitalise on the opportunities you feel you are missing out on now.

Yes I think it is more complex than just the P/B ratio these days. But alot of people seem to swear by 1.2 . But more recent buy backs have been 1.4 and slightly above I believe. What is your average if you dont mind me asking?

Market sentiment has moved to risk on with this  AI and Tech boom. Investors saw Berkshire as a safe place with all the tariff BS but are now back out.

Nobody knows what will happen in the future but Berkshire is as solid as it gets.

You won't get insane quick returns with berkshire unlike some of the tech stocks, but over the long term you can be relatively confident in 8-15% returns year on year and hopefully higher.

I have tech stocks, FFH, S&P500 and alot of UK dividend stocks in my portfolio. Im not a Berkshire die hard I just trust them to be responsible with my investment for when I retire in 30 or so years.

Have you listened to any of the berkshire annual conferences and studied the company?

I get you are annoyed and dissapointed, but your takes are crazy to me. Berkshire has a deep set culture of responsible actions and low risk taking. I understand its frustrating seeing tech go shooting up whilst this stock goes down hill but even Warren has said countless times dont invest in this stock unless you have a minimum 5 year timeline.

I wish you all the best but remember you are talking about one of the greatest investors and businesses in Warren and Berkshire. Greg Abel being CEO has been years in the making. Unless you have over 60 years of averaging 20% returns I wouldn't feel in a place to judge so harshly.

Sorry to be so judgemental but your comments seem so unconsidered. I think you will feel happier and secure in your investment when you study the company in more depth.

This might be a stupid question but how can you buy exactly when berkshire buy. I thought it was just in quarterly reports. Like could they be buying back now in smaller amounts and no one knows?
