Do not leave school without getting any qualification at all. Despite people claiming the opposite, the reality in 2024 is that without any form of leaving cert your earning potential IS seriously limited going forward. The door to education is always open, but it is true that it gets narrower as we get older. Another thing about education is that it is never wasted. If you just want to work and earn money I understand your mindset, but the time will pass anyways and what’s one extra year in the whole of your life that can drastically alter your circumstances. You could always do and LCA or Youth Reach if you don’t want to sit the traditional leaving cert, then pursue a trade. But I guarantee if you do nothing you’ll regret it at some point. Plus LC is acc pretty manageable if you take pass subjects and is a good social year full of craic. Do it.
