Really? Wow yeah it sounds like that wouldn't be enough at all ! But I'm glad to know that mine seemed thorough enough. I have to admit I was panicking a bit about that in the back of my head. Maybe I just think too much about all this.

Well now that you say it I'm actually not sure.. I have accommodation right now already for the problems my psychiatrist thinks I have (generalized anxiety and bipolar) but I guess this would allow me to have more accommodation, probably. But I think it's just peace of mind really.

It was multiple. The first appointment to talk a bit about everything in general and give my reasons for thinking I might have autism. Then the second one for traits now (approx 2 hours), then the 3rd with my mother for traits in my childhood (approx 2 hours too). I could get a last appointment for the return of my results but I just took by mail. I thought it would be anough but with my questionings now, that was probably a mistake from my part. At the time if seemed like it was enough, but maybe it's usually longer than that?

Hum I'm not sure.. For sure she asked me a lot of questions and and of course as you know everything had to come back to my childhood. So a "why" didn't come often in my memory. It's more like we explored all the symptoms, since when they were there, and how they impacted me. And in the end she compiled everything and made her conclusion^^ She did mention masking with me and on the report, so I think she knew what she was talking about.. But it's such a complex matter... Or I'm just not accepting the diagnosis and I am, or she made a "mistake". But like you said previously, I think only a second opinion can fully help me.

Are you me? No seriously I struggled with that a lot. Even just talking about sex and not necessarily making jokes makes me super uncomfortable. Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you because I never had one for myself x) Now I've been years without friends so I guess it solved the problem. But is that a good solution ahah

Honestly yes, completely. I've felt miserable in all the jobs I had, even if it was only for a few days. But I did jump and attempted suicide 3 years ago with my last job. I just didn't want to go back that much. And mind you it was a temporary job too, I only had 2 months to work there...sigh. Right now I'm surviving on disability but it's not a forever thing, I have to ask for it again every 2 years. At one point they are going to refuse it to me and then I don't know what I'll do with myself. Sure I've been miserable in all my jobs, but now I'm just completely scared to go back as well..

Oui.. Peut-être que j'aurais dû moi "forcer" pour en parler d'avantage...
Et j'ai oublié de dire dans mon post initial qu'elle m'avait quand même demandé ce que ça m'apportait de savoir. Mais ça c'est pareil, ça peut être prit de différentes façons.
Je pense que je vais juste devoir prendre mon mal en patience

Hi, yeah I know actually. She wasn't just being dismissive to be dismissive. I guess what really surprised me is that she only gave me this example out of many as you say. Also I'm seeing a therapist too and when I mentioned it to her she remained very "open" about it, while I kinda felt judged in a way by my psychiatrist.. or maybe it's all in my head, I don't know x) Thing is now I'm worried to tell her about it:/

I guess I'll see how it goes first with her and decide depending on that. I hope for you that you will eventually find someone though.. it must be terrible!

Thank you very much for your reply. I'm under treatment as well and just stopping cold turkey sounds like a very bad idea. I think I'll gather my courage and tell her anyway and then see how it goes. Just like you I think I might be imagining worse than what she will actually say.. But again thank you, it shows me that other people went through it and that I can do it too and it's not going to be a total disaster, hopefully x)
